HB,
I don't know how this will affect your Sophomore Top 30, but I thought you should know that Bryce Leapley will not be wrestling this season at all, and Matt McCart may miss a significant part of the season...both due to injury. |

Hopefully Matt will be back in time for the state tournament. Staying healthy seems to be a major issue for alot of kids these days.

It's to bad to hear about Bryce and Matt. I have not had the opportunity to see Bryce wrestle but I have heard a lot of good things about him. I have seen Matt wrestle and he is fun to watch. Matt has a unique style and is very aggressive. Matt seems like a good kid and I enjoyed having him compete in the Maine Exchange this past summer. I understand how tough it is to sit out for an extended period of time. Lance, wish them well for me and hopefully Matt can be full strength by the end of the season.

Thank you Badger for the words of encouragement. Both of them are super-great kids to have in the classroom, as well as to coach. Just got the official word on both tonight...bryce is out for up to nine months and McCart is out for up to twelve weeks. If I'm lucky Badger, I might have McCart back in time for our dual in January but not likely.

Well... you may want to make sure he is really healthy and keep him out of our dual. Then you can bring him back.

Lance how did your wrestlers get injured, was it a freak thing or just part of football?

Bryce got hurt in our playoff loss to Creighton the other night on a kickoff return with about two minutes left in the game. I think he was blocking someone and the pile ran into him from behind. He was having a super game, about seven tackles on the defensive line, including running down a Creighton running back from behind. McCart went out for cross country and his hip started hurting him so he had to quit. Then about a week ago he tried to kick a football, missed, and his hip went out of joint. Just heard last night he may have a cracked pelvic bone.

Man Lance, I'm sorry to hear about Byrce & Matt! I hope they recover fully from their injuries! I know our kids have great respect for your athletes and they will be very disappointed to hear this. Please pass on our best wishes!
