Is anyone else from central nebraska going to go to omaha to state freestyle/greco. We have been practicing for 6 weeks at kchs and are taking a team down on may 3rd. Everyone is talking about all the summer folkstyle travelling teams like disney duals, grand nationals brute nationals etc. but truly freestyle /greco training is some of the best off season stuff you can do to improve on your feet. Plus getting away from folkstyle for a while and taking a break isn't bad for the kids.

It just makes them more hungry in the fall!

I remembered from last year so booked rooms in fremont this year 2 months ahead. You would think that if usa wanted to keep this style going they would move it to another weekend, because warren buffet won't change the weekend! I can gaurentee you that!

I have a room for 3 people if anyone needs it. It's not much. 2 twin beds (one doesn't have sheets) and a couch. Sleeping bags on those last 2 would work good. It's on south campus of UNO. Like I said, not much, but it's FREE. If anyone is interested, let me know.

...anything to help the wrestling family.

Pinmachine. I was scheduled to officiate this event, but I will not be able to. I sprained my ankle umpiring softball tonight and will not be able to officiate this tournament. Sorry for the late notice.

Good to see people participating but the best technicians by far were under age 13. I saw a lot of little 7 and 8 year old kids hitting solid guts and arm-spinners while the high- schoolers were wrestling some kind of folkstyle variation. At this pace, Nebraska high school Freeco wrestling looks to be very good in about five years.

I agree dswitz, some of them little guys showed some good technique. It's to bad more wrestling parents don't get their young wrestlers involved sooner.
Freeco's the way to go.

There still is a long ways to go, but numbers were up slightly over last year. I believe that is the second year in a row numbers are up. It is good to see more clubs bringing kids. Several Scottsbluff's kids made it, Mitchell, Kearney, Columbus, Milford, Seward, Grand Island, etc.

I don't know the name of the kid that beat Laughlin but I watched the match. Laughlin couldn't score on his feet.
