I was reviewing the UNL 02/03 wrestling schedule and found that UNL has scheduled 3 duals with Air Force, Nothern Iowa and Hofstra on Feb 22 at 1pm, 3pm and 7pm respectively at the Devaney Center. Feb 22 is the same day of the medal rounds at the state tournament. Does anyone have any additional insight on this potential conflict?

Two years ago, Nebraska wrestled Iowa state during the state tournament and they had the dual on the track I think.

Two years ago Nebraska wrestled Iowa St. just before the semifinals that evening. They held it on the track and it worked great because of all the wrestling fanatics present had an opportunity to watch collegiate wrestling just before the high school semifinals began. They had a huge crowed to watch the dual which is great for Nebraska wrestling.

Talked to Mark Manning about this, and here's what they're shooting for:

-- Nothern Iowa is not a part of the deal now, due to a scheduling conflict

-- They are trying to work with the NSAA on this in the hopes that they can have a full house for one of the duals. They are planning on wrestling Air Force around noon on the DC track, so Nebraska wrestling fans will get an opportunity to see Valley native Heath McKim in action.

-- They are trying to work it out with the NSAA so that they can dual Hofstra immediately after the state finals are completed. If it's possible, they'd clear the arena at the conclusion of the state tournament and then open the doors for the NU-Hofstra dual, which should be a dandy matchup as Hofstra has a really solid team this year from what I understand.

I'm sure there will be more info on this as we get closer to the date. For now, that's the plan...Air Force at noon on the track, Hofstra in the Sports Center after the finals that night.
