Oakland-Craig is having one Sunday Jan. 24th. Contact Aaron Arlt, aaron.arlt.gj3a@statefarm.com for forms. This is a well run, well attended meet with good, but not elite, competition. Nice big gym too so it's not overpacked |

Great plug, but I would have to disagree with elite cause the Wolves extreme club is made up of Northeast Nebraska kids. We are based out of Oakland-Craig. That group of kids will be at the tournament. Most of the same kids that won the State dual championship last year will be there competing. We only lost 3 wrestled matches last year out of 5 duals. Teams that normally show up are: Fremont, Tekamah, Pender, Scribner, West Point, Stanton, Logan View, Blair, Howells, Oakland-Craig, Bennington. Pretty tough group. |

Sorry 525, I didn't mean to imply that there was no comptetition. There are a lot of tough kids at this meet. I just meant that I didn't think many "elite" clubs attended. Good luck to the Wolves

Weeping Water's youth wrestling program has taken over their home wrestling tournament this year. We have made a few changes. Most notably, we have changed the name of the tournament to honor the memory of Kyle Sorensen. Kyle always gave back to the little league program as a volunteer and mentor, so we are proud to honor him in this manner. We also added a high school division this year. The tournament is Feb. 28th, 2010, a week after the state tournament.
Here is the website to download a flyer or you can register online... http://www.eteamz.com/weepingwaterwrestlingclub/ |

The Valentine Wrestling club is holding their annual youth wrestling tournament, the Border Brawl Classic, on Sunday, February 7th at the Valentine High School. Weigh-ins start at 11:00am with wrestling beginning at 12:30pm. The tournament is for wrestlers in grades K – thru 8th. Pre-registration is now being taken but walk-ins are also welcome on Sunday. Wrestlers will receive medals for 1st thru 4th place and we are also presenting team trophies for 1st thru 3rd place. A Concession stand will provide a full lunch menu as well as snacks throughout the day.
A special presentation is planned recognizing Arch Ferguson of Wood Lake. Arch is being honored for volunteering his time for 45 years to coaching wrestling to area youth. The presentation will take place mid-way through the tournament. For more information on the tournament, you may access our website at http://www.valentinewrestling.com |

I have received 2 phone calls (and an email) asking if the Central City tournament is cancelled. All have indicated they are hearing that we cancelled because of the GI Dual Tournament.
Just want to clarify to everyone, we have never discussed cancelling our tournament. Preperations are already in full swing. You can find all of the registration info at our website: http://www.centralcitywrestling.com/id2.html Hope to see you there! |
