...that rumor, of course, being that the NSAA has already engraved their name on the Class D state championship trophy. But the engraver IS a phone call away...

Seriously, though...can somebody enlighten us on the wrecking crew that blew everybody out at that tournament Saturday in R-Ville? I mean - 203.5 points ahead of the runner-up??? More than triple the points of third place? 14 medalists...10 of them champs?

A little reaction from those who were there?

theyre a bunch of studs, its as simple as that, not to try to show any disrespect or anything but i had the flu pretty bad and i have alot of respect for marcy but if i was 100 percent and could have had some energy the 3rd period i would have held my lead and they wouldnt have had him in the finals

I was at the invite on Sat., it was unthinkable the way that they dominated. It was a 14 team tourney that had class B and C teams, as well as Lusk WY, a state champion team from last year. I have been around wrestling my entire life and never seen anything like this. Of the 10 champs I think that only 1 had a real close match. That was the Krotz kid that beat last years class C runner-up. The scary thing is that this wasnt even their total versity. The 189 pounder will be a 71, 71 at 60, and a new kid in at 189. The only two that didnt make the finals were the 103, and 112 pounders who are freshman that will be top 4 material by the end of the year. After what they did to Valentine and Chadron and seeing them, I think that I would put them against anyone in the state. They are that good.

I have been wondering hows come you didn't do as good you were saying before the season started? You remember all that talk on the other board? I was just wondering what the excuse was this time? Thanks

and anyway i dont consider 5-1, and my one loss from a rushville dude (5-2, with the last takedown for him coming from a desperation shot form me) so hes obviously good, that bad

I was wrong I put one to many L's in your last name. I know the feeling people used to put extra letters in mine also. I apologize for that.

The thing is that Marcy beats you, I will even give you the two at the end so its 3-1 marcy gets out wrestled in finals by Mostek from N/G, don't get me wrong Mostek is a good wrestler, but he couldn't start some of the other guys in the 189 weight class last year and I am not seeing him do too much this year. That is the point I am getting at!

ok yeah marcy beats me, ill be honest i thought marcy was pretty chubby and didnt give him the credit he deserved and didnt take him as seriously as i should have and he straight up beat me, at that point and time he was a better wrestler than me, but mostek was on the other side of the bracket and whos to say i wouldnt have beat him? its unlikely but it could have happened? and alot of people improve over 1 years time i see him coming out pretty good this year

i know for a fact that calahan is a good wrestler. he was sick when he wrestled marcy on saturday, heck half the team was so that does count for somthing. but for a junior he's damn good for his age

No way can cozad hang with rushvile, not from rushville or anything. Does anyone remember last year the only team that could beat rushville all year long was Alliance. They also won the class B district against Cozad with ease. I don't see Alliance beating Rushville this year, and i don't see anyone doing that. I commend the Rushville coaches on an excellent job of taking average kids and making them double tough. Congrats.

This is not a knock on the coaches by any means but you have to be realistic. These kids are, and I'm sure were a little more than average when they got into high school. I think you need to give those kids a little more credit than that. We're talkin absolute studs here. Lincoln East and Rushville are as close to dream teams as you will find in this state.

Cozad did beat rushville in ainsworth last year. I specifically remember Rushville's coach congratulate us when the trophy's were awarded. THey have a great team no doubt but they are not unbeatable. In class D they are unbeatable however. There just arent that many class d schools out their that even feild a whole team, let alone have studs at every weight class as rushville does. Even Class B teams don't fill all the weights. They have a great program thanks to a great coach.

Rushville is the #2 team in all classes right now that means that they are rated in front of Cozad. My vote goes for Rushville the Haymakers are going down and bad go horns.
