I do think that censorship is wrong on a site like this. If people ignore him and do not respond, he will get tired and move on.

I also get tired of the BS, but I exercise my option to skip the rest of the post - not just with Jim Rome etc but with NWI's responses. But
to each their own - that is why its an open forum. However, when a post exceeds the bounds of decency with swearing, then its time to close out a person! |

The guy who started the NWI Bias thread on Sunday did give me one bit of constructive criticism, noting the error in the Conlin/Ludlow match. I took note of it and actually had the change made in the results to get the correct score up there.
Even the alleged Jim Rome had a constructive note about my column that I will try and take note of for future columns. When it comes to constructive criticism, noting corrections, suggesting topics or other things of that nature, I'm all ears and appreciate any and all tidbits that are sent my way. I'm not about to say that I'm the last word when it comes to publishing, nor am I going to pass myself off as THE expert in the sport of wrestling. But when the attacks become personal or wild accusations that have no basis in reallity, that's when I get upset. Sure, I could ignore these a-holes and let them spew their mental diahrrea and let it fall on deaf ears, but having spent the time and energy that I do in covering this sport and to have some anonymous jackass tell me that I suck or whatever...well, that's just not going to go unchallenged. I know a lot of people are tired of JR's and Daffy's weak schtick. I certainly am tired of having to take the gauntlet they throw down in front of me and bash them over the head with it (and I don't want to get smug or anything, but countering their attacks is like playing Monopoly with a 4-year-old and getting him to trade Boardwalk and Park Place for a Get Out of Jail Free card). Anyone who wants to offer constructive criticism...I'm all ears. You want to run smack on me and get personal? Bring your "A" game and pack a lunch... |

The thing is...I don't try and come off that way. I'm not the arrogant type, but I'm not afraid to state my opinion and defend myself when the situation calls for it. Maybe I shouldn't play the game, but I guess I've always felt the need to challenge those who challenge me in that manner. Like I said...I'll listen to, and act on, constructive criticism. But you want to get personal and run it on me? Come prepared, because it will bounce back on you.
And you're right...in the end he's just firing blindly just to get me to fire back. It's one of my many flaws - I'll trade smack even when I know the opponent is unarmed. Thanks for the constructive criticism, though. It is appreciated. |

Mikey, I DIDN'T even choose the option that protected me. I love a good verbal Pier Six brawl just like the rest of 'em!

Mikey...hate to ask this and sound like I wasn't interested this weekend, but how did my nephew Ryan end up? The last I'd heard he was 2-1 at 165 after having lost his first round match to the #1 seeded guy.
