Clarke is at 135 and he could give him a hell of a match. Will be one of the best matchups of the year if they do meet.

Well I heard Clarke might go down to 130 but I am not sure, some possible placers though are Dusty Loeffelholz from Amherst & James Teel from Rep. Valley. Things should really start to sort themselves out after Christmas though.

yes, sorenson is the one to beat at 135 this year. if clarke does stay it will be one hell of a meet. loeffelholz i saw did wrestle at 135 and beat james teel 14-4 i think. i also heard he is pretty heavy and may go 140. is there any others at 135. just with these 4 kids it will be a hell of a meet. 2 of the best wrestlers in the state and another1or2 not to far behind.

Where is Brad Zurek? Is he at 130? If so, what will he do if Clarke goes down there? Will he try moving up or down, or just stay?

the only way that these kids could get beat during the regular season is if they wrestle kids from higher classes. They will dominate their class, but there are better wrestlers out there in different classes that could beat them.

Your comment could easily be construed that you hold to the belief class D wrestling is beneath the other classes. Did you not read HB's reasoning for listing Sorensen as the TOP senior wrestler in all classes? Last year he avenged his freshman loss to Wightman (the class A-130lb champ)by beating him quite handedly, he demolished Welte(the class C-135lb champ), he destroyed Jim Buell(the class C-125lb runner-up and former champion), among others. What makes you think this year will be any different? Arrogance??

Someone should tell rushville they are class d or maybe they should just wrestle all class A schools since they handle them so easily. If they dominate class A teams surely they wouldn't even break a sweat against Louisville, Weeping Water, Amherst, Thayer Central, or Sargent!
Vader, I was very impressed with WW efforts on Saturday. I thought you could have gotten a few more calls in the 140 match to win that bracket. Good Luck the rest of the season. Rick Henry |

thanks for the kind words, unfortunately I was not at Friend to observe the match, but I think McKenzie is very capable of winning that rematch. Good Luck to you this season as well.

i thought degenhardt wrestled a great match, but it took his best effort along with mckenzie giving up that takedown in the closing seconds of the 2nd. a senior of that caliber will come back with a vengance against the sophomore.

hey snowstorm...you dont know what youre talking about. if i was a head coach i would take sorenson in a heart beat...heck im from oneill and just a fan now and i wish he were here...at least we would have a state champ this year for sure! im sure you could talk to any coach in the state and theyd take 13 kyle sorenson's in their room.
i echo the sentiments stated by vader in regards to sorenson beating the best last year. your remarks about small schools not being able to compete with the larger ones is ridiculous...have you ever heard the proverb...better to say nothing at all and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and erase all doubt. heed that advice next time you post! |

MD you are correct that Max Fellman will be Sargent's 135 lb wrestler. Zurek will stay at 130 and whoever is there is who we will wrestle whether it be Clarke, Sorenson or both. The one thing with those three is that they thrive on competition.

Clarke is a great wrestler who deserves a state championship. He needs to think things over about staying at 135. Sorensen is better than he has ever been. Clarke deserves a gold medal this year, he can beat anybody at 130. Think about going there! Everybody knocks on you when you dodge somebody but for all you people who knock the idea of dodging somebody, YOU WRESTLE SORENSEN!

Would like to point out that Welte was a Class D state champ last year. I'm not even sure if he would ahve placed in Class C 135 last year. I also don't think he was saying anything bad about Calss D wrestling. Maybe you just didn't notice that 135 happens to be really tought this year with Nelson, Brill, Unger and others in there.
