Jordan Burroughs and Ross Grande wrestle? And how was the Brandon Browne vs. Andy Johnson match? As good as it looks on paper? Also looks like Levi Wofford is making a strong impact.

Gubbles was kicked off because he was involved in a fight. Grande and Burroughs didn't wrestle and the browne v. johnson match was close and went into overtime with browne winning off a takedown. could of went either way though. Five of the wrestlers didn't wrestle off because they are competing in the South Dakota State open tomorrow including matt.

Gubbels was also drunk and disorderly in front of some recruits, from what I heard.I'm just the messenger, and would love to be wrong, but came from a good source.Coulda been another Nebraska kid living the dream.
Johnson had Browne beat, then let Brandon tie it up just at the end of regulation, and Browne got a takedown in OT |

what are the stipulations for making the starting lineup? I'm assuming these matches and open tourney results?? Just wondering I am guessing Vacanti wouldn't be wrestling at an open otherwise.

Panther - given his benevolent loss to Browne last night, IYPO, do you think Johnson has what it takes to replace an AA and the team leader in wins and net dual points last year?
And if Johnson is at that level, with Jones an outside shot and Wofford a long shot, shouldn't Manning move Johnson to 84 and get another AA in the lineup? |

I think he can be a solid replacement at 174 next year, though others will also challenge for that spot.I believe he is too short to grow into 184.I've coached against him for all 4 years of his highschool career, and saw continual improvement, especially technically,so I expect that to continue. He is really ripped, and that takes a lot of hard work in the weightroom.I'd like to see him settle at a weight, and work more on flexability, and wrestling related lifts rather than the 'muscle beach' efort.
Alexander_Delarge,Patrick finished ahead of Matt today. |

We'll see who wins in the wrestle off. Matt lost to Billy Murphy who is a stud. Nice to see Salazar win it at 141.

Losing some good wrestlers hurt but they made our program look bad. With these losses how do you think the team will fair this year?

The wrestle offs were great! Wofford and Burns were definately there to win a spot and proved it. I look for those two to be major contenders if not National Champions. They have their own unique styles and were very impressive. This is the type of wrestling that will put UNL back on top. Well done!
