Off the top of my head, it was a smaller tournament that was dominated by Lincoln Christian(wow have they come a long way in two or three years, yes they have always had one or two state quality guys but now they have good numbers and improving technique out of their average guys) runnerup honors to BDD who with eight wrestlers narrowly escaped a huge second round performance from an improving lawrence nelson squad.
Individual that I can remember 103 LC over ? 112 LC over ? 119 LC over Bohlen LN 125 LC over BDD 130 Wingate over Williams BDD 135 ??? 140 ??? 145 Negely LC over Schoming BDD 152 Nickel MEr over Peterson LN (avenged finals loss from previous week at harvard) 160 Elting BDD over Valicot LC 171 Blacketer Dor over Mertens LN 189 Gerdes BDD over Humbolt 215 Eggers BDD over LN 275 4 man RR LN???? I didn't get a packet after the meet but hopefully someone will post eventually. Can't think of any major upsets or anything that would cause any ripple effects. Outstanding wrestler in my opinion would be either Negely or Elting, although a case could be made for wingate but he was pretty much untested (he certified at 130) Rick Henry |

Robbie Plambeck did not wrestle that I know of and I checked the whole list of bracket names. His little brother Joe wrestled at 130. Elting beat Vallicot 6-2 but gave us a scare at the end as we were on top and he almost hit a peterson granby which could have given him the win 7-6. Elting will stay at 152 for the remainder of the season (I imagine) except for when I bump him up to try and beat Monroe's headlock ! Ha See ya soon Phil!

135 Result :
1st Mark Gaede (HTRS) 2nd Nathan Rogers (Free) 3rd Donald Adams (LC) 4th Jacob Sutton (LC) Note: The Adams/Sutton match was an amazing 16-15 in favor on Adams. My kid (Gaede) pins the Freeman kid in 1:10, then struggles to beat Adams 15-9? Hmmmm...:-) |
