It varies from district to district. Some don't allow practices on school grounds and some don't allow practices at all. Some get around it by practicing at an off-campus site.

Our school allows practice when there is no school, but the coaches can't make attendance mandatory.

LPS says you cant have a meet or a practice when there is a snow day. I guess its a new rule because we used to be able to. Its probably because of our new SE.

On a regular snow day, varsity only is allowed to practice, if the AD says the lots will be cleared and it's O.K. On district closure (like yesterday) we are not allowed to practice. That's what we were told, that's what we did.

As I understand it, LPS can close schools or can close down the entire district. If only the schools close, district personnel and school office personnel must report. If the entire district is closed, I believe only emergency personnel must report.
