Gretna had 8 in the consolation semis and 5 in the finals...won 7 of 8 in the consolation semis and 9 of 12 in the medal round. They were 4 1/2 down going into the consolation semis and won it by 15 over Plattsmouth, with Millard South 16 behind the B-Devs. Tekamah-Herman was fourth and Ralston fifth, with Blair, Logan View and S. Sioux rounding it out.

Results are on the NWI website.

Metro champs and runner up at state in Class A. I bet Millard South is glad they are in Class A with average Class B schools beating them here year after year.

The results said he lost to Nate Olson from Tekamah-Herman in a close one. I'm not sure of the score.

Denson lost 9-6 to Olson in the first round. Came back and pinned Lehan of Gretna and Larson of SSC to get third.

I wouldn't be so quick to write them off. I know Denson pretty well and he has a pretty young lineup. He also had a returning medallist quit this week. His 125 missed weight too and that kid is pretty good.I thought he was going to blow a gasket at the tournament. Little Denson is going to be a stud. You heard that here first. I watched the match. Denson looked a little like a frosh out of the gate but finished strong. How does a kid like that get last seed? These seedng meetings must be stupid. I kind of thought he got screwed out of nearfall during his match with Olson too. I'm not the ref so who cares. Bet Olson wouldn't want to wrestle him later on! I know I wouldn't.

Patriots are a young bunch, but they're going to be solid when it counts.

As for Li'l D...getting paired with Olson first round was probably that syndrome that goes with freshmen not getting any props their first time out in seeding meetings. The criteria they use generally go on how they finished last year at the tournament, overall record, state qualifier/medal, etc. Freshmen don't have any of those criteria going into their first meet, so usually they wind up going by the luck of the draw, and Aaron's luck obviously wasn't very good early in the day Friday.

Densen is very good but had no varsity record so was in same boat as all freshmen at first meet.I personally cant see seeding stud freshmen and I would guess they were drawn in which sometimes turns out great and sometimes it doesn't.My guess is now that the pressure of the first loss is off he'll be right in every match and will be in the mix come state. The class B coment by tiger1 was stupid and my guess is the apple didn't fall too far from the tree if you know what I mean.

I appreciate your kind words about our team and my son. We are really young this year and will be next year as well. However, we hope to get better as the year goes on. DJ was right in that I did have a quality wrestler bolt on me last week, but that's life. My 125 missing weight, now that is another story. Today will be a tough practice for that young man! He will be back, though, and that is a good thing. Aaron is fine as well. He was a little disappointed in his first match, but now he can look ahead to the future. Got to start somewhere. I told him it isn't today we are worried about. I think it is how he wrestles in Feb. that will count most. It is hard for him to see that now because he puts so much pressure on himself. Wonder if that is a coaches' son mentality?

That is right Millard South will get better later on. When it gets away from B and into the Class A competition.

Don't know who the heck you are but you sure don't have much between the ears. Class A has good teams and poor teams just like class B. So not sure what you are trying to say???? Wrestling is awesome because teams like Millard South and the rest of the Metro will wrestle anybody anywhere. So, stop smokin the hashish pipe and wake up!

It is amazing to me the amount of ignorance that some folks have about wrestling. While it is true that usually larger classes have better wrestling, becasue they have more kids to come out for the sport, that is not always true. It sounds like this year that in Rushville they have a team that would wrestle anyone, anywhere! It would be interesting to see the state have an all class gold medal like they have in track. Keep the winners around on Sunday, Round robin or draw a little four man bracket and let them go at it! That would take care of all this class debating that goes on!
