Are both the Perkins' brothers of Ben Perkins out of Creighton Prep that lost to Vering at nationals and went on to wrestle varsity at ISU?

Ben Perkins never lost to Vering at Junior Nationals. Perkins didn't make weight and didn't get to wrestle. At the time, many from their training camp said Vering wouldn't have stood a chance against Ben.

While Perkins was a great wrestler, I find it hard to believe that Vering "wouldn't have stood a chance." Especially, considering he won junior nationals rather handedly that year.

Quinton is very good and will contend for a state title next year no matter which school he goes to. I've seen him pin McKim, wrestle Sherer and Perkins very tough and lose by 1 point to a 2x Iowa state champion. He will win some matches in Fargo this year.

This is exactly the reason why no one, I mean no one should be allowed to write something on this forum without be registered first.

I see no reason why that post in regards to Quintin was necessary. No one ever said he was the greatest wrestler NE has ever produced. In fact, I know & you all know he is a long long way from being close to the likes of the great wrestlers from this state.

I do know that Q works hard in trying to continue to improve. He knows that it will take a lot of work for him to venture in to the midst of the likes of Allgood, Meneely, Oliver, Vacanti, Sherer, Denson, or any other great wrestler that you or I may think is great.

Q came to this tournament and every other tough tournament for exactly what he received in Greco. To become a better wrestler by learning from his mistakes. To use it as a guage to determine where he is at, and where he has to go to take it to the next level.

As a first year cadet in predominantly one of the toughest regionals. I'm happy/proud of his performance. His sportsmanship was impeccable. Not everyone can win. Somebody must always get the short end of the stick.

Basically, I don't really care what "Mistake" has to say, other than the fact that he/she needs to step up to the plate and put a legitimate name behind their spineless remark.

Freestyle Results through Friday.

Ravaughn Perkins, Novice, 75 - In Finals
Andy Hollins, Novice, 75, 5th-6th

Alan Taylor, Novice, 140, 1st Place

Zachary Cottle, Schoolboy, 75, 3rd-4th

Quintin Cottle, Cadet, 125, 1st-4th
DaVaughn Perkins, Cadet, 125, 1st-4th
Dustin Franklin, Cadet, 125, 5th-6th

Good Job boys! And great job Grapple! Thanks for all of the updates and results that you post on here.

My husband came home from Indianapolis and said he thinks he just met someone who might be more of a wrestling fanatic than I am!! You are appreciated!!

To Mistake:

Quintin is a winner. His goals are way more important than your sarcastic remarks.

Thanks to all of those that are attending the many off season activities and representing our state so well .

The few that make those kind of comments should be banned from posting . This has been an ever increasing trend of the last few years trying to belittle the efforts of those doing positive things for themselves and Nebraska Wrestling . It must be easy to set at home not doing anything to promote wrestling , hiding behind an anonymous post, and beating up on those who are out there trying to improve them selves .

Can anyone tell us who Mistake is ?
