Does anybody know the Husker lineup for tonights dual?

I am really shocked to see Jordan at 157. Could that be because they feel has has a better chance at a national championship at that weight? I am also shocked that Burns isn't at 141 and a little shocked that Patrick is at 133 instead of Matt Vacanti.
Thoughts? |

Looks like UNL will be forfeiting 125 lbs in the dual meet tonight. Pokorny quits the team and Kiley gets notice 1 hr before weigh ins to try and make weight, was .1 over. . .

Pokorny quit? Really?
That would surprise me. Winning state is only 1/50th of the equation. |

Well, I am watching the live stream of the dual and we are open at that weight and we just signed another wrestler for this class this afternoon. I don't want to speculate too much but maybe he was a late signee because we didn't have a scholarship for him, but if Pokorny did quit or had to for health reasons, the committ would make more sense. Just speculation though.
I hope everything is okay with Mr. Pokorny. |

The lineup was really different than I expected. Who knows what to think at 125, and 149 and 157 has to be somewhat of a fluid situation. Maybe Hacker needs a little more time to get to 149? I don't know what to think about tonight....

Come on. HB and Badger have 70% of the posts on this web site and neither will say if or why Pokorny quit the team? What's the big secret. Everyone knows Manning is kind of an a--, so if he got tired of his crap, it's understandable.

Lets not jump to conclusions. LJS says that Pokorny was sick and unable to wrestle tonight.

Andy has not quit the team. Manning has been great to Andy at all times and Andy has a lot of respect for Manning. We are very happy with everything Manning has done for Andy.

Thats great news then about Pokorny. It will be interesting to see who goes to the Kauffman-Brand Open this weekend for the Huskers, and how different weight classes shake out. Obviously there are some issues at a lot of weights, so maybe some clarity will happen after this weekend.

Nice to get that cleared up. I'll keep my opinion of Manning though....

It had been noted during the summer that Burroughs would likely go 157lbs. Not a big surprise. Hacker will be the guy at 149lbs. Burns will likely RS. Vacanti and Aleksayan will go at it all year for 133lbs.

If what juicebox says is true shouldn't we beatup on Kiley a bit, can you imagine Patrick Witt or Zach Lee not being ready to go? I understand weight control issues but come on, this is a varsity meet.

Why would you beat up on Kiley? You think that every redshirt walks around on weight? Here's the story that I got from people with the program. . .
Pokorny did not show up to pick up his warm ups, the coaches called him, and he said that he quit. The coaches called Kiley 1 hour before weigh ins and asked if he could make weight. He came back in after already practicing and was 2.5 over, since he was working his weight down for saturday. He worked out until the last second possible, stepped on the scale and was 125.1 and not allowed to compete. Since the meet last night I have been told that Pokorny has asked to be back on the team. If that is true it is probably good that Kiley didn't wrestle last night and lose his redshirt. |

Wow,
Could we get two more opposite stories from Badger and Juicebox?!!! I don't know who Juicebox is but he certainly acts like he knows exactly what happened. It would be pretty hard to make up a story like that. I logged on to blast him for making up a story that Pokorny quit, and now I'm leaning back to his side. The plot thickens..... |
