tekahamah-herman looked pretty descent at districts as usual, stanton and creighton really got beat up in the consolation semifinals, both probabl lost 3 0r 4 matches in those rounds. Norfolk Catholic looked good but I think the Hergotts both should have got in but they never took control, those two out of state could hurt in terms of team title.
while NC has more in, I think you have to give the edge to TH coming out of this district, they have more quality kids that could do damage in the finals. We'll see soon enough
Congratulations to McManigal from Creighton and Gubbels from Randolph on their District Wins. A couple of questions about the meet. How was Jacobson feeling from OC? We all know that he has been battling the flu bug a little bit. And also was wondering how the two hot heads from this district handled their losses? I mean Lewis and McCart.
peters of LHNE looked good at 119, upsetting Brodahl of WP and Kliment of CRE to make the trip to lincoln. Lisa Maslowski looks to be on a mission at 103, she pinned her last three opponents, including a huge pin over McManigal of CRE in the cons. semis.
Tekamah-Herman has my vote in lincoln to be the team to beat they really stepped it up and they got some real studs going to lincoln that could make some noise. Norfolk Catholic looked good also. Lisa Maslowsky could very well be the first Female to win a match in lincoln she looked very dominant. too bad her sister dindnt get the same luck she did to join her maybe next year.
not to take any thing away from T-H girl, but this will pry be the only time she makes it to state, I was impressesed with how she wrestled, had never seen her and didn't think she would be that good, but to continue to make it to state she will either have to stay at 103, think 112 is a big jump in terms of strength, or improve greatly
Extremely good tournament and I thought great sportsmanship by those mentioned and by all throughout the tourney. There are always too many heartbreaking matches at this district. A lot of kids who could do some damage at state will be watching from the stands. Maslowsky girl was impressive, I wish I could say the same for some Tekamah fans (the only really poor sportsmanship I noticed). They hollered at some Creighton wrestlers as they walked by "Hey Creighton, your 3 pounder got beat by a girl."
Hey guest, i think there is a discussion somewhere else about the refs. I love "Monday Morning Refs". Why don't you explain to us How the refs didn't do thier job right and how you could of done it better.
Im sorry but the guest that said that The TH fans were unsportsmanlike must have been at the wrong tournament then. For you to rag on the fans for saying to one kid that your 103 pounder just lost to a girl is nothing compared to what his teamates and other people would have said and this doenst sound like the TH fans at all because they know that the girls are darn good wreslters and there just as good as anyone else on the mat. I have watched the TH fans all year and they never get out of line when the girls wreslte. The Tekamah-Herman wreslting progam is one of the big reasons wresling in this state is what it is today. The TH fans used to fill close to 45 percent of all of the gyms when there legenday teams took the floor under mytty and They have a real good fan support so for you to rag on the TH fans for being unsportsmanlike you kinda struck a nerve. Hope you understand where im coming from....
And I hope you understand where I'm coming from. Re-read my post, I said "some fans" The majority of TH fans where great at cheering on their team. Their support made a difference in TH wrestlers performances. It's just that with all the talk on previous posts about girls wrestling, comments like that from a "few" just fuel the fire. You must have also missed where I wrote that Lisa was impressive, I think she has the ability to wrestle with many of the wrestlers who will be in Lincoln, possibly place. That said, those comments were made, and they weren't very classy.
