Josh McCance weighed in and made weight at 103, not quite sure why he was made to move up to 112. I think he finished 4th in that weight bracket. Would have liked to have seen him wrestle in the 103 weight bracket. Good Luck next week Josh........

McCance wrestled 112 because he was the lowest seeded wrestler in 103 and there were only 3 guys in the 112lbs. bracket. 103lbs. was a very tough bracket and he probably would not have placed.

McCance did make weight at 103 and was move up to 112 . A move made by his coach that Josh didn't agree with. There was five in the 112 bracket very salty wrestler in there owen right . He would had to wrestled into the tournament at 103 but I think he could held his own and place higher there. We will see what happen next week at W.C. in Scottsbluff he will be at 103 then .

I think Josh McCance would have definitely placed at 103. As a wrestler you go to a meet focused on who you are going to wrestle and their weaknesses. I am sure when McCance was told he had to move up...because his Coach wanted him to move up...that it probably made him mad. I know I would have been mad if it had been my son.

Josh McCance had every right to wrestle at 103. It wasn't his fault there were less wrestlers in the 112 bracket. If his Coach made the move because he didn't think Josh would have placed, then his Coach definitely doesn't know Josh. Josh is a tough kid mentally and physically. I have watched him wrestle and win/place for years. I personally think that Josh got robbed... we will never know what might have happened because he wasn't given the chance to wrestle 103 that day.

I was really impressed with Riley Essay of Alliance. It was my first time seeing him wrestle and he looked very good for a freshman in a very tough bracket. It will be interesting to see how he will perform at districts.

Alfredo Gomez decision over Brandon Girard. 5-4...that was a good match. It wasn't a finals match or anything, but after Cheyenne East, I knew it was going to be a tough match. I look forward to when those two meet up again...they are fun to watch.

What happened to Zach Appleby of Sidney. I haven't seen any results about him in the 103 bracket. Who beat him or how did he place? I think he is still ranked isn't he?

I heard that Werdel from Chadron got beat Saturday at Scottsbluff at 130. Who beat him and did he place, he's a ranked wrestler and I was just curious who beat him?

Werdel's 1st match was with Gerald Wilmoth of Torrington. I don't know who won. Small was on the other side of the bracket and was in the finals match against Travis Anderson of Sterling. (Sterling won)

If Werdel won his 1st match, then his 2nd match would have been against Travis Anderson of Sterling, and he would have lost there.

If Werdel lost his 1st match he would have then wrestled Terry Haun of Sidney.

Sorry I wasn't more help. Small did beat Werdel Thursday night.

Thanks Red Rocker!!

One thing I would like to find out for sure, not that it matters, but in the 103 Consolation match, I could have sworn that I saw the Ref slap the mat and that Chris Hall pinned McCart from McCook towards the end of the 3rd period. Chris, if you read this, please let us know. If you did get the pin, please post the time. Thanks! Both wrestlers did a great job. It was a very tough match.
