Lincoln Southwest earns big-time respect for fielding a full team at the Kearney Invite this past Saturday. Some first year teams (and teams in down years) would take a course of easy tournaments and not bring a number of wrestlers and send them to JV meets instead. Not the SilverHawks.
The Southwest SilverHawks may take some knocks as their program develops, but they should hold their heads high knowing that Finley is positioning them to be winners in the near future. Also congratulations to Park Sloup 171 of Southwest for placing in the ten team tournament. |

I would second shrug's take on LSW. There was no ducking competition in this bunch. They all wrestled hard in both the varsity and JV tournaments.

...so I'm sure he knows a thing or two about coaching teams in tough tournaments. And as the old saying goes...you go against the best to be the best. With teams like Lincoln East, Columbus and Kearney on hand, I'm not sure you can do much better than that for first-meet competition.
Great first time out, SilverHawks. |

Who is coach McClain? Aaron Finley is the coach at Southwest who used to be at Skutt. You're right Mike, he has experienced some big time tournament action. We're glad to have him here!

Don't know WHERE that one came from. Shouldn't type and chew gum at the same time, I guess.
