As many of you know last year was the last season that the Iowa Public TV was going to air the state finals. I've always liked watching the Iowa tournament to see how it compares to Nebraska. Good news is though that Channel 6 in Omaha is one of the stations that has picked up the coverage. It won't be too long before NETV will be out as the telecaster for the Nebraska tournament as well. I'd say within the next few years some telecast company will shell out enough $ to have the rights to show the Nebraska tournament.

I found that very interesting that an Omaha station will broadcast Iowa wrestling finals, yet focus so little on wrestlers in their own area and state.

I remember back in the day when KMTV used to broadcast finals of the Iowa state girls basketball finals when it was 6-on-6 (3-on-3 on each side...really weird basketball IMO).

Wonder how long it will be until KTIV in Sioux City brings us the finals of the Nebraska state tournament?

Well the company that bought the rights blanketed the state with coverage through about 10 different affiliates. Just happens that Southwest Iowa is covered mostly by channel 6 in Omaha. You could imagine the outrage if there wasn't any coverage to a certain area of the state.

Man...and to think I thought it was just a problem in Nebraska.

Gee, Ross...maybe we should start SWIWI - Southwest Iowa Wrestling Illustrated.

On the other hand...I don't have the sanity for that right now. Just getting the NWI College Preview issue out is all this guy can handle today.
