Before everyone on this post starts reading between the lines for something that isn't there, this is nothing more than an observation you history buffs may find interesting. Since William Henry Harrison in 1840, every president elected in a year ending in 0 (zero) has either died in office or an assassination attempt made on his life (Reagan survived). "Dubbya" was originally elected in 2000, and will start his second term in January. (Lincoln, first elected in 1860, assassinated in 1865 & William McKinley, first elected in 1896, assassinated in 1901 after being re-elected in 1900.) Just the facts. | <whatrockis> | So what you are trying to say is, there is still hope. |

Either we had won/were winning a war, or the economy was on an upswing. In all those cases the President was enjoying high job approval ratings and the country was for the most part united behind what he was doing. |

And it wouldn't surprise me, sadly, to see some left-wing loonie try to assassinate the President. If only they could take Geraldine Ferraro out at the same time (watching her whine and complain on Hannity/Colmes as I type this). "Energy Flows Where Attention Goes" -- James Arthur Ray |
