Does someone know if there is a state wide guideline for lettering in High School football ? Or is it set by individual districts

It is left up to each individual school district.

I know that some schools go by the number of quarters in which a guy plays. I also know of one school that the ENTIRE team, freshman on up, letter if the team qualifies for state. Something tells me that ADs have a lot of input.
