What did everyone else think?

I'm definitely no fan of this hire. Hopefully, I'll be proven wrong in the next few years.

Defenses win championships. Offenses wear out the grass and entertain the alumni. Bo can coach defense.

Other observations.
There were a lot of guys out there last night that are bigger than me.

Both teams could line up in a 2 back set and run the ball. Both teams could spread the field and throw. Kind of shoots the old theory that a team could only do one or the other.

Most close games are decided or heavily influenced by the special teams. The two biggest "mo" killers of the night stopped OSU in the midst of great series. 1. OSU had a great offensive series and LSU blocked the field goal attept. 2. In the second half OSU has shut LSU down and had them 4th and 23, then roughed the kicker and LSU kept the drive alive and scored.

Fox doesn't do a very good job with college football. Many times when showing an instant replay they cut it off, or that BCS Bowl Blast logo covered the screen, before the best part of the replay come on. When they showed those "under review" plays they usually only had 2 angles and they weren't very good camera work.

An unnamed source has confirmed that Red Rocker has purchased Fox and next year they will be alright.

Guys...the neighbors are upset from all the laughter coming from this apartment after reading this thread...

HB why don't you like the hire? I guess I can see a few sides to hiring Pelini. One one hand, I see an energetic guy that players gravitate to and want to play hard for, but another side tells me that Nebraska could have arguably gotten someone with more experience in the head coaching department. I don't know if there is an easy answer to this one. I do believe that Nebraska can contend for BCS games in two to three years if things go right this upcoming season (meaning Joe Ganz plays as well as he did for the last few games and the defense has a heartbeat), but its not going to be all sunshine and roses either....

I am not even 50% convinced that Joe Ganz will be our QB next year.I like Bo, hes a great motivator and a great defensive mind, and I like the fact that he kept Watson around. The players really like him as well. But, if we as nebraskans have learned anything in the past couple of years, its not to get excited about anything. I think Bo will work out great in the long run, though.

I wonder how the players from the last couple of years will react to -gasp- wearing pads to practice and actually practicing on -bigger gasp- Mondays! I can just hear it now--"You expect me to practice for FIVE days??? In a row??? And all I get is a free college education?!"
