The headline in today's Omaha World Herald clearly shows the problem.

"I'VE DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB IN EVERY AREA." Bill Callahan, Cornhusker head coach.

We have to find a better seat for him. It's obvious he can't see the field from where he's sitting.

I'd like to nominate "on the couch at home" as his new seat to watch the game.

here's an odd coincidence -- my 8th grade math teacher quit his job after one year -- a classmate of mine saw him two years later working the french fryer at Burger King in Kearney.

Wonder if he was the one that hired those two yahoos...

I've never worked at BK and definately wouldn't hire either of those 2 for any other job than toilet scrubber, so chase that thought right out of your coconut...

At least they showed more passion than they've shown the last 4-5 games.

Hated to see a golden opportunity go down the drain, though...

Make way for Bo before or shortly after Thanksgiving weekend. Even if they end up bowl eligible, no one would select the 119th ranked rush defense in the nation. I don't think I could stand another game coached (and I use the term loosely) by those clowns.

When you have crappy coaching and combine it with key injuries on defense...the result is disturbingly ugly.

Is it possible to just forfeit the last 2 games to avoid further embarrassment?

I'm almost ashamed to be a Husker fan after a butt kicking like that.

76 points???

You've got to be kidding me...

As much dissapointment as it was not being able to win the "big one" back in the day, at least we weren't worried about getting just a win.

Look at it this way...at least we close out with two teams that aren't near as prolific on offense. K-State and CU probably will score 40...50 points, tops.

Here are the total yards we've given up this year...

Kansas - 569
Texas - 545
Texas A&M - 459
Oklahoma State - 551
Missouri - 606
Iowa State - 415
Ball State - 610
USC - 457
Wake Forest - 376
Nevada - 185

TOTAL - 4,773 (477.3 per gm)
Last 8 - 4,212 (526.5 per gm)

First 5-game losing streak in 50 years.

Five teams have scored 40 or better...the most before this year was three.

The 76 Kansas hung on us was the most ever given up by Nebraska in a single game in 117 years.

Six TD passes by Reesing the most NU has ever allowed in a single game.

The 48 KU scored in the first half is NOT a record...Texas Tech put up 49 when they hung 70 on us a couple years back.

KU scored on TEN CONSECUITVE POSSESSIONS -- all touchdowns.

The question is not whether or not we should just forfeit -- the question is whether or not we could just tell Cosgrove to leave now and leave the defensive coordinator position to a blind monkey.

Look at it this way...at least we didn't lose to Navy.

Notre Dame, on the other hand...

Who can honestly say that they are confident that WE could beat Navy? Or Notre Dame? Or Omaha Westside? Or a 6th grade midget team?

We could beat a sixth grade midget team...but we might need overtime to do it.

I'll see that bet and raise a 3rd grade YMCA flag football team...
