Question:
Since it looks like Philadelphia is circling the drain and won't be in the playoffs, who represents the NFC in Super Bowl XL?

Choices:
Seattle
Chicago
Carolina
Next week's Dallas/NY Giants winner
Does it really matter? Indy is going to win it, anyway

Gonna have to say its gonna be Seattle. They run the ball well, and if Darrell Jackson comes back, the passing game will improve as well. The young guys are starting to come around on defense as well. Those people who said that Lofa Tatupu was drafted too high are starting to change their tunes now.....

Funny thing is...Darrell Jackson may not GET an opportunity to come back. Joe Jurevicius has stepped in and has been a HUGE player for Seattle this season. A lot of attention obviously is on Shawn Alexander at RB, but Jurevicius has really stepped up big at WR.

My biggest concern is on the defensive side with some of the recent injuries in the secondary. If those guys can get back to 100 percent, Seattle looks like a good pick for SBXL.

Gotta watch out for Da Bears, though...their defense is outstanding right now. Of course, playing in the NFC North, that's not much of a stretch (and this comes from a fan of an NFC West team...home of the divisional cupcakes).

As much as I'd love to see a NFC Wuss team be the sacrificial lamb. I just can't pull the trigger and make Seattle the favorite. I don't think they are battle tested enough in the close games, last week was a good example, Seattle didn't win that game, Feely choked it away...multiple times. However, if they get home field advantage...look out they've got some absurd record @ home, I'm not sure but I think they've won something like 80% of their home games over the past 3-4 years. Correct me if I'm wrong. I think Carolina gets it done, they're defense is nasty and their offense doesn't have to do a whole lot for them to win. Whereas with Seattle I get the feeling that whoever has the ball last wins sometimes.

I'd love to see the Vikings run the table WITHOUT Culpepper (read "With Brad Johnson"). Culpepper is a good QB, but hangs in the pocket too long & has tunnel vision when looking for his receivers. Johnson has a couple good seasons left and he's a smart, no BS type quarterback who fits well with the Vike's receivers.

Da' Bears have an awsome 'D' but their offense remains suspect. That said, right now it looks like they may be the team to beat.

If Seattle has home field, Carolina and/or Chicago has no shot.

NO shot.

And might I go ahead and stick my neck out here...

Christmas Eve -- Hawks 27, Colts 24 -- the first of two losses Indy has this year.

Oh, and in case you were wondering about that 42-0 whitewashing Monday night, there are two things you need to remember:

a.) Yes, Philadelphia is officially circling the drain, and,

b.) The Seahawks are THAT good.

Suprised to see the Seattle defense keep pace with the offense scorewise. Philly is not good and it doesn't help matters when you giftwrap turnovers either. I was watching and 2 of those defensive TD's were WTF??!! The 2nd INT pick 6 was just comical...McMahon just looked that guy down, and the Moats fumble looked the ball magically turned into a grenade and he needed to get rid of it.

You know...if this would have been St. Louis or one of the AFC Wuss teams, I would have been laughing my butt off last night. As it was, it was more like, "Wow...that un-bee-buh-bull."

Seahawks had more return yardage on Philly turnovers last night than Philly had in total offense. Can you tell Philly misses Donovan McNabb right about now?

Just two more to go before the big one on Christmas Eve...Seattle will hand Indy their first loss. I've been calling the shot for about a month now, and I ain't backin' down...

Cubbie...with all due respect, did you watch Simms pucker up this past Sunday? He was showing shades of his days at Texas when he was bombarded by Oklahoma uniforms. And Cadillac is running more like a Yugo with as banged up as he has been.

The Bucs will be lucky to get a wild card at best...that division is Carolina's to lose and Atlanta's to pick up if Carolina stumbles.

This is Seattle's year, kids...you don't have to like it and you may not appreciate the kind of team Mike Holmgren has there. But it's Seattle's gig to lose now, and if they beat Indy on Sunday they will definitely make that clear to the rest of the NFC.

Seattle is catching Indy at an absolute perfect time, I'm chalking Seattle's performance on Sunday up to 1) a very inspired effort by McNair...the guy still has game, and 2) Seattle looking ahead to Indy. Indy got physically dominated by SD, plain and simple. Brees tried to lose the game, but Turner pulled out a huge play, I was shocked to see Shottenheimer get agressive at the end...simply stunning. Seattle D coordinator should have SD's defensive scheme mesmermized by now. Harrison being dinged up hurts the Colts...but seriously, the streak is over, there isn't much left for Indy to play for now. I expect alot of base offense and not too many quirks from here on out from Indy. Seattle is going to be rocking on Sunday, 'Hawks by 7+.

Plus a Seattle win wraps up home field throughout the playoffs -- which means Chicago, Carolina, etc., will have to come through the Great Northwest to get to the Super Bowl.

Indy can still get healthy in their season finale at Arizona, and they're not going to want to show Seattle too much in case they meet again in February.
