Alot of moms and dads this day say football is a dangerous sport and dont want there kids to get hurt but then they put them in X Country. Just the other day there was a meet and two kids just about die because of the heat and running. You might get hurt but your know going to kill yourself running.

Think it out just a bit more, same thing happens in football practice every year. Heat is a dangerous issue for all athletes and not to be taken lightly by parents, coaches or the athletes; comparing one sport against the other on this matter isn't necessary. Facts are facts on football injuries, anyway they do get more notice. Interesting however is that growing kids experience many painful instances over their years in Xcountry, 5000 meters during competition and countless more in training are no small matter on immature, growing joints and muscle of most of the participants.
