Hey gang...my daughter is involved in a photo competition on Picture.com, and her submission is a finalist for some really nice awards.

If you could click on this link:

Kylie's fishing photo

and vote for her photo, it would really be appreciated.

She is going to nursing school, but she's not a bad photographer considering she has her dad as an influence behind the camera.

Thanks again!

I gave her a ten also, but with an asterisk after it. With that influence it should be worth 20.

I'll never forget her first picture. It was at the Nebraska-Oregon dual, and I let her shoot a couple of early matches just to keep her occupied (nothing worse than a bored preteen at a wrestling meet, I've learned). I showed her what to do, and she went and sat down at the mat and waited for her shot.

A few minutes later she came back with the camera and said, "How's this, daddy?" I look in the viewfinder and the VERY FIRST photo she took was a PERFECTLY BRACKETED SHOT of a situation where the Oregon wrestler has the Nebraska kid pinned, his body straight up in the air with his shoulders on the mat.

Craig Sesker and Ken Hambleton (Journal-Star) both saw the photo and said I needed to hire her and fire the current photographer I had employed (which, of course, was me). The photo was the cover pic for the next week's edition (back in the PDF days before we went to the online subscription setup) and she had a couple more pictures in that edition as well.

She actually took a photo at the Skutt Invite the last year I did NWI. Craig had called and asked if I would shoot one for them since their photog was at a basketball game (imagine that, the OWH covering basketball), and I gave her the camera and let her go and she had a nice one printed in the paper the following day.

If the fishing photo proves anything, it's that she's a better photographer than her dad. I was never good with silhouette shots like that, but she pulled it off brilliantly.

that is a good picture, I am also a amateur at photos, but do take wrestling pictures for our local paper. The best part of it, is getting on the floor at the state meet and having a great seat for every match I want to watch. Tell your daughter good job.
