Tanner Sturgeon of Cozad was named outstanding wrestler of the tournament, I believe. Announcer said there were five returning state qualifiers in the 189-pound bracket.

Championship match at heavyweight was a dandy, and the 171-pound final literally came down to the final tick when Tasler got a reversal to beat Lichtenwaldt, who had reversed Tasler with about 20 seconds to go.

Adams Central looked pretty salty today. Gretna and Aurora are both young but should be much improved by season's end. Good mix of east and west here that should benefit all involved down the road.

Weird to go to a tournament as a fan after over 20 years going in a far different capacity. Was a lot of fun, though, and a well-run tournament by the folks in Cozad.
