NHSCA National Open
Pre-Season Wrestling Championships
November 13-14, 2004, Lawrence Joel Coliseum Annex, Winston Salem, NC

The NHSCA National Open Pre-Season Wrestling Championships will be held in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on November 13-14, 2004. This tournament is designed as a preparation for the season and to give you an indication as to where you stand on a national level. Additional information concerning this event as well as a listing of host hotels and airlines offering special rates can be found on the NHSCA website at www.nhsca.com.
Last year, more than 400 wrestlers representing 26 states competed in this event. Entries for this event will be posted weekly on our web site. All NHSCA events are designed to give the athlete an opportunity to compete with other athletes from different areas of the country.

You may also want to check our website for details on other NHSCA events. The National Open had more than 1200 wrestlers representing 39 states. State qualifiers for the National Open will be posted on our website and updated weekly. The top six place finishers in each weight class at the National Pre Season wrestling Championships qualify for the National Open Wrestling Championships in Virginia Beach.

Eligibility
You must be enrolled in school. You can be younger and enter an older division, however, you cannot be older and enter a younger division.

Matches
college / open division - 2-2-2, high school division - 1 – 2 - 2, middle school division 1- 1 1/2- 1 1/2, elementary division 1-1-1. There will be full wrestle backs for all consolation matches

Awards
The top six place finishers in each weight class will receive awards. You must be present on the awards stand at the finals in order to receive your award.

10AM – 11AM wrestling clinic for all wrestlers and coaches, mat 1
Noon all championship rounds up to the semi-finals
8PM coach’s social, Holiday Inn Select

Sunday, November 14
9AM all consolations, semi-finals, finals


One weigh-in for the entire event, entry deadline November 6. There is $20.00 penalty for late entries or change of weights after November 6.
