Where: Lincoln Southwest High School in the wrestling room
When: Tuesday and Thursday Evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Club will begin on September 14th and end on November 4th. There will be no sessions during the week of October 25th (fall break).
For whom: Students in grades 7-12
Why: The Southwest Wrestling Club will function as an entity which strives to help students hone their existing wrestling skills as well as learn some new techniques.
Clinicians: Efrain Ayala and Derek Pirner. Efrain was a former Nebraska state champ and is currently a redshirt sophomore at UNL. His roommate, Derek Pirner, is also a redshirt soph. at UNL. Derek is from Elk Point, S.D., where he was a five time finalist and a three time state champion. Efrain and Derek have done about three technique camps together already, so they have good experience working with each other as well as with high school students.
Cost: The cost of the club is $50, which might include a T-shirt, depending on numbers. Checks can be made out to Southwest Wrestling Club. Two members from the same family is $45 per person, more than two is $40 per person.
