TKClass C District changes
Coach Horacek posted this last April, thanks Coach. Since then of course some district realignments have occurred. Being in C-4 I note significant change with addition of Med. Valley. The already stacked C-2 gets some new blood from West Holt. What else?

Louisville and North Bend look to be the favorites here. Louisville looks to have more power (3 wrestlers that have placed high and won State Championsips) and will try to develop depth, North Bend has a little more depth (8 qualifiers to Louisville’s 6, also their non-medal winner's records are a little better) and will look to develop that depth to match Louisville’s power.
Behind these two teams are a number of teams that will be very competitive and give this district some depth. The way it looks now this may be the toughest Class C district this year.
Other teams to watch. All may be able to push and maybe beat Louisville and North Bend if they develop or the top two stumble (one or both North Bend and Louisville may have to stumble or be hurt by injuries a little to bring them back to the field).
Tekahma Herman: Always tough. Only two placers coming back, but they left some tough wrestlers home as a result of being in Barn Burner District C-2 last year. Also they always have good wrestlers coming in as freshmen.
Fort Calhoun: Had a very young team last year, improved throughout the year and wrestled well in Lincoln.
Lincoln Christian: Very good core of good wrestlers returning. Needs to develop some depth
***Bennington: This team is the sleeper from this year. They were decimated by injuries 2002-2003. Their two best wrestlers were unable to compete (Craig Pokorny 125 and Andy Christensen 275) and will be back with a vengeance for their senior years. Both should vie for State Championships. Some of their other good wrestlers were hampered by injuries through out the year also. They will also have Andy Pokorny coming in as a freshman. He is seasoned and has had success nationally. If he is big enough Andy may challenge for a State Champion ship also. Bennington is a team to watch out for.
North Bend and Louisville I am sure have their eyes on the State Championship for next year as they should. Both could have what it takes to make a run at it. Tekahma I think always has their eye on the big trophy, and with their tradition I personally never count them out. Bennington is the Dark Horse going into the year, but as next year progresses I think they have the capability and potential to become a front runner.

*Chad Rundell Norfolk Catholic (Ludeman beat Rundell out for the varsity spot late in the year and went on to place, look for one to be at 215 and the other at 275)
For years the C-2 district has been the toughest district to be in. This year on paper it looks to be a little down (but do not count on it). Stanton looks to be the front runner on paper (they have 6 of 8 qualifiers back and two medalist back from a young team). Norfolk Catholic may be the team to watch in this district though. Stanton has been a young and up coming program the last couple of years that is trying to build tradition, Norfolk Catholic has established themselves as traditional power (although they are a fairly new power). Both look to have a chance to challenge for the State Title next year depending how they develop, spread their kids out and how they fair health wise.

C-3 looks to be a three team race. All three teams have great tradition and will be gunning for the State Title next year. The Butler County connection of David City High and Aquinas return everyone from teams that finished the 2003 season well. Thayer Central returns most of a talented and young team. If these three teams stay healthy this looks to be the second toughest class C district as they all have the potential to qualify a good number of wrestlers. Throw in the quality wrestlers from the other teams in the district and this district has the potential to be very exciting.

This district looks to be wide open. Ord, Atkinson, Bridgeport, Mitchell and Ainsworth all have 3-5 qualifiers back. Ord should be the favorite with a second and a third place medalist and three other qualifiers returning. This district does not look tough on paper, but the west has represented itself well in Lincoln and there are a number of possible Champions in
C-4.

Look for MV/Maywood to challenge for top spot here. Everyone needs to be healthy and focused, buy Mortensen and Myers could win it all, with Wilkinson, Hazen(103) and Hazenhauer(215) being legit to be top placers. Some football injuries are already starting to hinder some of these guys, but hopefully everyone heals quickly.
