I hope to get to the open on the 19th.

How do I find out what teams will be there?

Does UNK list a Varsity roster?

Does more than 1 person wrestle at each weight?

Who will be wrestling at what weights?

For example, Both Kevin Barrett and Nick Bauman wrestled 285 at the scrimmage but are listed at 197.

I am kinda new to following college wrestling, It seems to be different than HS.

Thanks

If a team doesn't have a first semester dual, then they don't have a varsity roster. In open tournaments the whole team wrestles, even red shirts. College coaches have wrestle offs in the room to be sure, but they also have the advantage of seeing how guys compete in tournaments and against like competition to help them determine the roster.

UNK has traditionally had their open the second weekend of December, right before finals and Christmas break. Because of that timing, a lot of teams wouldn't travel too far, and some guys would stay home and study. The bigger UNO tournament was right before Thanksgiving. UNK moving up into that void should help the tournament get a little bigger, as will a lot of other tournaments around the midwest that weekend. So to that effect, it will be difficult to say which teams will be there as they scramble to adjust their schedules after the crime commited against UNO wrestling.
