State Qualifier Registered: April 05, 2005 Posts: 1120 | From themat.com Past Cadet and FILA Cadet Nationals champion Thomas Gilman of Nebraska turned in an impressive day to reach the freestyle finals at 119. Gilman will face Hawaii’s David Terao in the finals. Gilman outlasted prized college prospect Cory Clark of Iowa in three periods before sweeping 2010 Cadet Nationals champion Jered Cortez of Illinois. Terao pulled out a last-second win over Michigan’s Timothy Lambert to reach the finals. |

State Qualifier Registered: April 05, 2005 Posts: 1120 | From themat.com Past Cadet and FILA Cadet Nationals champion Thomas Gilman of Nebraska capped a superb tournament by winning the title at 119. Gilman swept Hawaii’s David Terao 4-1, 2-1 in the finals. Gilman, whose stock as a top college recruit went up considerably in the past two days, will compete in the FILA Cadet World Championships next month in Hungary. Awesome job Thomas, congrats. Good luck in Hungary |
Rookie Location: Omaha Registered: December 04, 2005 Posts: 90 | Sounds like a lot of college coaches would like to shake Gilman's hand. Great job Thomas - keep it going. |
State Qualifier Registered: October 16, 2005 Posts: 1077 | Gilman's stock was already very high. He has been a top recruit for over a year, year and a half. Congrats to Gilman for a great tourney. Kudos to the Hawaiian wrestler, not many top notch kids from across the ocean. Nebraska wrestlers had a nice tourney bringing home some hardware. |
Varsity Letterman Registered: October 19, 2002 Posts: 856 | Congratulations to Thomas on winning a National Championship, to all of Nebraska's All-Americans, and all the wrestlers that competed in Fargo. The past 3 years have been the best in Nebraska's history for finalists with 5 National Champions and 3 runners-up. Nebraska USA has plans in place to to improve our Olympic styles and you may see changes next year towards that goal. |
Rookie Registered: December 14, 2005 Posts: 84 | My bet is we will see Gilman in an Iowa singlet. He has mentioned in the past that he would like to wrestle for Brands & Co.. |
