I agree. But, can you take children to their buffet? The last time I ate there you had to go through part of the casino to get to the buffet. I didn't see any kids (but I don't think I was really looking for them.) And the last time I went, we had to eat in the dog track seating because they were so busy. But, hey... if they will let kids in... go there!!! It is GREAT!!! (I always leave those places feeling like a big, fat, full tick. ) |
State Qualifier Registered: April 05, 2005 Posts: 1120 | If you want to take the kids to a good place with good food and fun. PIZZA MACHINE: Pasta Buffet with a huge game room. DAVE AND BUSTERS: Steaks, pasta and burgers and also has a huge game room. Flesh, sorry for mentioning the adult beverages at DON AND MILLIES. |
Junior Varsity Location: O'Neill, NE Registered: November 18, 2005 Posts: 613 | AuntDD...You can take kids into the buffet...just can't take them through the actual casino itself...just go in through the main(hotel) entrance. Oh, wait, you must be talking about Bluffs Run(dog track)...I don't know about there...I was refering to Harrah's on the river, next to Ameristar. Sorry for any confusion. |
Rookie Location: Nebraska Registered: April 24, 2005 Posts: 121 | There is a pretty good mexican place down in the Old Market called Micheals it's right across the street from Famous Daves and Old Chicago. Cali Taco is another mexican place that is pretty close to the Qwest at 33rd and California. There is a Vals Super Buffet at 108th and L Lanskey's is another pretty good italian type place with three locations. I only know the adress of one and that's 50th and L. There are a few Don and Millies the closet one to the tourney would probably be on Saddle Creek and Farnam by UNMC. If you like Sushi Kona Grill is pretty good and is out by Village Pointe 156th and Dodge. Other Sports Bars: Scarlet and Cream Letterman's club- Also at Village Point Indigo Joes- 72nd and Dodge Stevie J's- 50th and Underwood Clancy's Pub- 3 locations 72nd and Pacific, 114th and Dodge, can't think of the other one. Big Freds Pizza- can't remember address off hand. Cheeseburger in Paridise- is at Village Pointe as well. There are also some Applebee's, Chilis, Olive Garden around 72nd and Dodge. If you don't invest very much, then defeat doesn't hurt you very much and winning is not very excitingy-dick vermell |

I was thinking that Bluff run was the same as Harrah's. One of them turned into a Horseshoe Casino... I am so confused! |
Rookie Registered: January 31, 2006 Posts: 58 | Hooters hands down. Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, hard work, and a hard to find alloy called guts. |
Rookie Registered: January 29, 2007 Posts: 13 | I believe that we have the best place to go and eat after state. our coach takes us all out to HOOTERS after State is all over and done with. Good wings and a show!!! |
Novice Registered: February 11, 2006 Posts: 231 | Ameristar also has a good buffet. The buffets are a little bit expensive, but thats what you expect from Omaha, especially when their population is going to increase by a good fraction. |
Junior Varsity Location: O'Neill, NE Registered: November 18, 2005 Posts: 613 | AuntDD...I think you're right...Bluff's run was owned by Harrah's..."Harrah's Bluff's Run Casino" I think it's now "Binions Horshoe Casino". When ownership changes, it certainly makes it tougher on us to keep them straight. Whatever they call it, it's a little further "inland" Iowa, where as Harah's and Ameristar are right on the river. Hope that helps. |
Rookie Registered: November 17, 2004 Posts: 194 | I'm going to have to go with Hooters. Right on Wonderboy! Walk the Line. |
World Champion Location: Wayne, America Registered: October 20, 2002 Posts: 5714 | Radio, Harrah's is still Harrah's and Bluffs Run is now Horseshoe, but both are owned by Harrah's. Hope that adds to the confusion...er, takes away from it, that is. "Energy Flows Where Attention Goes" -- James Arthur Ray |
Junior Varsity Location: O'Neill, NE Registered: November 18, 2005 Posts: 613 | I just assumed The Horshoe was owned by Binion since he is on their T.V. commercials...that's what I get for assuming. Your right...Horseshoe is listed on Harrah's site. My bad. |
World Champion Location: Wayne, America Registered: October 20, 2002 Posts: 5714 | I think Binion still runs it, or his name is still attached to it, anyhoo. "Energy Flows Where Attention Goes" -- James Arthur Ray |

Rookie Registered: February 15, 2006 Posts: 8 | Great traditional steak house if your staying near 72nd and I-80 is Anthony's Steakhouse and their Ozone sports bar. Ask for Tony, the owner, he is a big wrestling fan and all around great guy. He'll treat you right. |
Novice Registered: December 13, 2005 Posts: 230 | I am truly surprised this thread doesn't have close to 5,000 postings on it by now. Because if there is anything a wrestling fan loves to do more than watch wrestling, it's EAT. No wonder food is such an obsession with wrestlers trying to maintain weight. Their parents, siblings, relatives and fans are always talking about food. Here's something to consider from survival class. You can live 3 minutes without blood, 3 days without water, 3 weeks without food. On average of course. SO ---- as a tribute to the gastronomic hardships your favorite wrestler has gone through just to qualify for state, pay tribute by not eating at all during the three day competition! Probably not a good idea. Imagine how many grumpy, moaning wrestling fans would leave the Quest late Saturday afternoon. It was just a thought. All of them aren't good ones, unfortunately or we would all be rich and famous. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Red Rocker, |
World Champion Location: Wayne, America Registered: October 20, 2002 Posts: 5714 | Are you KIDDING ME??? Have you ever seen a hungry sportswriter??? There's a reason why they bring an endless supply of doughnuts in the media room every year at state -- to keep the sportswriters from jumping into the stands to do their best Hannibal Lecter impersonation. Although I would say this...if you want to see an EPIC food fight -- put a bunch of sportswriters in with a bunch of wrestlers at the Country Buffett after the state tournament Saturday and watch utter chaos ensue... GUARANTEED good times, man... "Energy Flows Where Attention Goes" -- James Arthur Ray |
