I hope dozens of NE kids go to the Sr and Jr Nationals, but I really want to see Vacanti, McCoy, Denson, Janovich, Pokorny, Washington, abd Perkins go. Bayer is in the Dapper Dan and can not wrestle in the Sr Nationals even though it is the same day at different times and right across the street.

It would be tough to pick which one to do, represent the USA in Dapper Dan, but it is only one match, or go to Sr. Nationals and get around 4-8 matches in depending on how you do. Heck could be 2 and Q, but I would have to go with Sr. Nationals.

Denson isn't going because he competes in track. Janovich is done wrestling for good.

Well that sucks. I know Janovich wants to play baseball in college, but too bad he could not get in one more tourney before spring ball (that's me being selfish). Being selfish again, I wish Denson would put track on hold for a few weeks and go to Sr. Nats. These two could win a lot of matches there and A.A....make NE look good.

You can't. Per NSAA rules, if he goes to senior nationals he becomes ineligible for track.

actually that is wrong(that he can't compete), you can get a waver from the NSAA, which the typically grant for this event, and you can compete.

Correct, My son went and competed in track as well 2 years ago.

Ne entries for Senior Nationals as of this morning....3/22/06:

Joel Torpy 112 lbs.
Robert McMickell 125 lbs.
Miles Negley 125 lbs.
Brett Hodgen 130 lbs.
Devon Kastler 135 lbs.
Jay Sherer 135 lbs.
Casey Gubbels 140 lbs.
Stephen Medina 152 lbs.
Kyle Svendsen 160 lbs.
Nick Schaefer 189 lbs.
Cameron Browne 215 lbs.
Jake Smith 215 lbs.

These are all the Nebraska entries I could find on the NHSCA site. Based upon previous discussions both on this board and in other wrestling circles, I expected to see a few more names.

The kids that are going will be coached by Alan Pokorny and Brad Hildebrandt. I'd like to thank them in advance for their selfless service and dedication to Nebraska wrestling. They do so much for our athletes!

They left the office a few days ago so I'm sure they're not updating the site.

I am a little disappointed that our "big" guns are not going: Vacanti, VW, McCoy....the kids who could make a huge splash, with that said I with the best of luck to the kids who are going.

If you want to see the big guns at this and other events collect $1.00 entry fee from every youth event entry in the state USA,AAU,Huskerland .Fund part or all costs for a complete team (all weights) and coachs to each event .

Rocky Mtn. Nationals , Senior Nationals , Disney Duals , USA Cadet & Jr.Duals , Fargo

Team would be winner of USA State for that style alternate 2nd and 3rd place .

That would be two tough meets to get on the teams .

Does anyone know for sure that Vacanti and McCoy won't be there? Just because they're not on the entry list doesn't mean they won't. Like I said, the NHSCA left for Pittsburgh on Monday. Even Switzer and Salcedo weren't listed. There are also a lot of juniors from other states that weren't listed that are wrestling.

Hey guys,

Aaron really wanted to wrestle in this event. He was told "point blank" that he wouldn't be eligible for track if he did. He also wants to win a state medal in the pole vault; he has a pretty solid shot if he doesn't get hurt. He does plan to train hard so he can AA at Fargo again.
