Rookie Registered: June 15, 2010 Posts: 52 | Gallant began his wrestling career at George Washington High School in Denver, CO, and came to Nebraska by way of McCook Junior College in 1974. After two years at McCook, he represented Kearney State College from 1976 to 1978 before serving as a grad assistant for the 1979 season. His high school coaching career began in 1980 at Sandhills Public Schools, where he spent eight years. He then coached for Clay Center (Clay Center/Harvard) from 1989 to present, garnering more than 100 dual wins, a state runner-up finish, 3 state champions, 14 state finalists, and 48 state placewinners. Gallant was awarded the Class D “Coach of the Year” Award in 1989 and the John McIntyre/Brett Wattnem Memorial Award in 2009. He has served the NSWCA as a board member and rater. He notes his first state champion and coaching his sons to the state finals as his greatest thrills on the mat. He will be introduced by friend and co-head coach at Harvard, Terry Owens. |
