Just heard something on Fox News Channel that will be of interest to those who are following politics AND the NFL...

In every election year since 1940, when the Washington Redskins won their final home game BEFORE the Presidential election, the incumbent has won EVERY time.

The Redskins' final pre-election home game is Sunday, Oct. 31, against Green Bay.

When I first started following pro football, I rooted for the Redskins (long story as to why I switched allegiances to the Seahawks). On Halloween afternoon, you can bet I'll be rooting for the 'Skins...along with the Seahawks, of course.

I'll be rooting for our schools to get rescued. Like I said, you're getting your Muslim either way, Mike. I think we can respectfully agree to disagree on this one.
Which reminds me--in January, LSW will hopefully be hosting a speaker from the Islamic Speakers Bureau. It is free to all genocidal maniacs who would like once and for all to tell a Muslim exaclty what you think should happen to their family and homes. Guests welcome. Call me at school 436-1306 to reserve your spot to tell them off--I'll need to make sure there are enough chairs.

I think the Muslim faith has taken a bad rap in this country, and it's due in large part to the extremists who kill and bomb and behead people all in the name of their religion and the mainstream media that chooses to play on these stereotypes.

These people are, in some ways, like the wild-eyed fire-and-brimstone Christians who preach about the sanctity of human life, then assault and murder doctors who perform abortions and the women who get them, or think nothing of attacking homosexuals because of their beliefs. And while I am a Christian and I am 110 percent against abortion and homosexuality, I also realize that there is a right way to disagree with these life choices, and beating or killing somebody is not the right way.

And Hawk, I agree with you that Bush hasn't been the best when it comes to education issues, but in looking at the big picture, he is certainly the lesser of the two evils when it comes to Bush vs. Kerry, in my opinion. Kerry is too rubber-spined on too many key issues to be worthy of the position. Bush may not have been right on every issue these last four years, but there is no doubt of where he stands and what he believes.

Let me know when that speaker is coming...I would be interested in hearing his comments.

Amen. Hopefully some time in January. I guess they had a speaker go to Lincoln Northeast, so I'm pretty excited about this person coming.

Finally the triumphant return of, well, me.

There is a great misunderstanding in our country when it comes to the Islamic faith, and their feelings toward the United States.

When I hear the statement "they hate us because of our freedom!" it makes me phisically sick to the stomach. I cannot stand to hear this becuase is the most blatant misconception and stereotype that is flowing through our nation today. In the United States, there are two very seperate issues which get very unequal attention; those two issues are the Iraq war and the crisis in Isreal. In this country we make a serious distinction between the two, we see almost no connection at all. However, in the middle east there is no distinction made whatsoever between the two. They see on the news, white skinned european looking people killing dark skinned muslims. All of the hatred directed to our country before we invaded Iraq came stemmed from our support of Isreal. Now that we have indvaded, and area currently occupying Iraq, Muslims are fearful of Iraq becoming another Isreal, and justifiably so. The United States invading Iraq was the best thing that could ever happen for Al-Queda recruiting.

Your president has tried to confuse the American people into thinking exactly what you said--that Muslims hate our freedoms. Now, when in History have we seen similar propaganda?.....small country in central Europe....crazy imperialist gov't.........liked to flex military muscle.....broke non-aggression promises...help me out, I can't remember.

Well...since we're stirrin' it up...

Amazing that the Democratic party has already filed 21 LAWSUITS claiming problems with voting in a number of states in the country, and several more are waiting to be filed.

As of last night, the Demos are batting a fat 0-for-21.

Seems to me they'll do anything, legal or otherwise, to make sure Flip-Flop Boy and Pretty-Boy Ambulance Chaser will get elected and turn us into a Socialist nation faster than you can say Osama Bin Laden.

That's my rant and I'm stickin' to it...

<<Muslims are fearful of Iraq becoming another Isreal, and justifiably so>>

Not following that. What does it mean?

I can agree that it isn't our freedoms that drives Muslims against the US. I do think there is preaching in the Mosques of a anti-US nature and that is probably where it comes from.

I have real questions about whether Iraqi's have any interest in becoming a democracy. My limited understanding of Islam is that Muslims want to live in a theocracy. They don't want a secular government.

If that is the case; I don't see how a democratic government can be forced upon them successfully.

Guest,
You are correct. What your Ivy League educated president keeps forgetting is that Islam is a faith that it deeply entrenched in the government. There are some laws and practices that are directly affected by Islam. To say that countries in the Middle East will most assuredly benefit from a democratic form of government is about as backwoods of an assumption that could be made. Speaking of flip-flop, exactly how sure is Jorge of those WMD's? Like I said, 1) Master the English language. 2) Learn about the world around you and what their attitudes and beliefs are 3) THEN become leader of the free world.

When I made that statement, I was mostly referign to the Gaza Strip and other areas of Isreal that are inhabited by muslims living under Isreali military control. In Iraq, a large portion of the country is under U.S. military control for an indefinite amount of time. That is where the parallel lies. Muslims, like any other group of people, want to have their sovereignty. Iraqis do not want to live under U.S. occupation any more than Palestinians want to live under Isreali control.

isn't it also like a an anti-war protester being part of a group planning to assassinate pro-war senators because of a war at the wrong place and wrong time....to go on to be a senator that votes for a war that he claims to be "the wrong war, wrong place, wrong time?"

A person from the Islamic Speakers Bureau is coming sometime in early January. It has been cleared with the administration. I know there are several of you out there who would love to have your view genocidal views heard. Now you can voice them to a real Muslim from the Middle East (you know, the region we should "carpet bomb"). Call me at school to let me know you're coming, and I'll notify the office. Put your money where your mouth is, and show up. See you then.

This morning's polls have Bush up by 3% nationally, but Kerry leading in the early polling in Ohio and Florida. Looks like Bush might have the same thing happen to him that happened to Gore last time.
