World Champion Location: Wayne, America Registered: October 20, 2002 Posts: 5714 | I'll tell you what...right now the two hottest teams in the AFC are Pittsburgh and New England, and it's not out of the realm of possibility that those two will be in the AFC championship game. Remember that N.E. has had Indy's number in the playoffs (although previous matchups have all been in Foxboro and theirs, if it happens, will be at Indy). Indy is also pretty banged up right now, and even if they get out of the N.E. game alive, that other half of the bracket isn't a walk in the park, either. Frankly, I think Indy is the team to beat here, but it wouldn't surprise me to see New England pull off the upset and get a shot at an unprecedented third straight S.B. title. I see a Pats/Colts and Steelers/Broncos final four here in two weeks. "Energy Flows Where Attention Goes" -- James Arthur Ray |

Junior High Location: omaha Registered: December 24, 2003 Posts: 476 | It's lame and trival but Indy is the team to beat, much like the Rams teams of the late 90's this team is simply geared for the RCA dome. I just don't think Pittsburgh has enough weapons on offense to go score for score with the Colts. Pitts defense while good, isn't that good. Forced to bring pressure, the Steelers will blitz alot, Manning will hit some throws and Pitt will be forced to throw all day to maintain. With Indy regaining SOME normalcy following the streak and the Dungy tragedy, I think the Colts come out sluggish initially, but turn up the heat and end up winning by 14. As for the Denver/NE game, I just can't bring myself to trust Plummer to win a big game until he does it. His playaction/bootleg ability is absolutely lethal when it's working. Denver is tougher than hell at home, but NE always seems to have a strange mystic quality about them come playoff time, Brady finds a way to win...Pats by 4. |

As much as we Bronco-philes would love to see it happen and as much as Plummer played within himself this season, we just can't bring ourselves to believe that he can pull this off by himself. It will all hinge on the O-Line. If the refs call the game tight and the smallish Bronco line gets called for its usual holding or chop blocking, Jake may be called on to help win the game. I'm not sure he can do it. Jake the game manager is much better than Jake the gunslinger. I also feel like Brady and the Pats will be given the respect of the officials. Much like Allen Iverson will get a call in the paint whereas a lesser player will not get that call in the same situation. I know it sounds like I'm making excuses before it happens, but when they have lost this season, these are the things that went wrong. I hope we can do it and I'll throw down a prediction. Last second Elam field goal, Broncs 27-24. And the crowd goes wild.... |

They look good right now. Brady proved to be human this season, and Jake the snake looks quite snakish out of his bootleg. Tough to stop him right now. Just imagine if the run game was working too Guaranteed LOUDEST guy in the gym!!!! |

Five turnovers...hard to beat the Texans, let alone a playoff team, when you hand them THAT many opportunities. This message has been edited. I saw a couple of the fumbles, Brown flat out dropped one, and another got punched out. Awesome play by Bailey on that near pick-6. Gotta find a way to win come playoff time and Denver pulled it out. I find it strange that alot of us wrote Denver off...these guys went 13-3!!! during the year. It's not often you get to use the fuel of being slighted and couple it with being at home. Nice job Denver. |

There were times I wondered if Eli and Peyton had switched bodies in between the games in NYC and Indy. "Energy Flows Where Attention Goes" -- James Arthur Ray |

Plummer plays relatively well all year and then he picks the AFC Championship Game to remember he's actually Jake Plummer. My neighbor is a Steelers Fan and was hosting a party to watch the game. The whole cul-de-sac was there dressed in back and gold. I pulled into my driveway getting back from Tulsa just as the final seconds ticked off the clock. I went over and congratulated him, then I went home and locked the door. |
