Novice Registered: December 13, 2005 Posts: 230 | Casual fans and serious fanatics alike appreciate when a wrestler turns in a perfect season. The statement it makes is final with nothing left to be said. If you want drama, intrigue and a story to tell, however, you might look at the "almost" perfect seasons. Whenever someone mentions that a certain wrestler only had one loss on the season, invariably, the first question asked is, "Who did he loose too?". So for all the trivia fanatics out there, myself included, here they are. (Wins-Losses-Grade) CLASS A - Perfect Seasons 103# Pat Rollins, OC Prep (20-0-9) State Champ 140# Austin Carmichael, Columbus (36-0-11) State Champ 152# DaVaughn Perkins, Om. North (30-0-12) State Champ CLASS A - "Almost" Perfect Seasons 112# Clayden McKim, Millard South (41-1-12) State Champ 1 loss to George Billy, Boys Town, 3-1 at Skutt Invite 135# Dan Rodriguez, Kearney (37-1-12) State Champ 1 loss to David Laughlin, OC Prep, 5-3 at East-West Duals 145# Esai Dominguez, OC Prep (36-1-12) State Champ 1 loss at Hayfield, MN Invite (Don't know the details.) 171# Cory Steiger, Lincoln Northeast (40-1-12) State Champion 1 loss to Brent Haynes of Oak Park, Kansas at Ekfeldt Invite finals. 189# Mitch Brown, Millard South (41-1-12) State Champion 1 loss to Tyler Legate, Neligh-Oakdale at Nebraska Duals (I don't have the score.) CLASS B - Perfect Seasons 112# George Billy, Boys Town (33-0-10) State Champ 140# Trenton Washington (35-0-12) State Champ 152# Kirk Mohr, Gordon-Rushville (37-0-12) State Champ 189# James Belville, Valentine (32-0-12) State Champ 215# Landon Franklin, Gering (37-0-12) State Champ 285# Andrew Totusek, Om. Gross (40-0-12) State Champ CLASS B - Almost Perfect Seasons 103# Dustin Stodola, Schuyler (32-1-10) State Champ 1 loss on season, probably at Lexington Invite, but I haven't yet verified. 160# Brock Smith, Gering (41-1-12) State Champ 1 loss to Ross Brunkhardt, Merino, Colorado (score and meet not verified) I will post C and D next. (Lost half of this once already.) As you might guess, this thread is as much for my information as for anyone else out there who might be a fan of this and other totally worthless trivia. But if you can see any errors or fill in missing info, I would enjoy reading it. Thanks. |

What? Franklin got beat by barrett in the finals...not undefeated and not a state champ. |
Rookie Registered: February 18, 2006 Posts: 114 | He never Techniqually lost because it was an injury default. It never counts on his record as a loss. Also, Stodola was beat the week before at districts by Cottle 3-1. |
