Rookie Registered: September 27, 2005 Posts: 155 | Seger got beat out by woodside from holdrege in the con. semis yesterday |
Junior Varsity Location: pierce, ne Registered: February 11, 2004 Posts: 736 | Thats simple, He didnt make it. This was a very tough bracket, I think any one of 8-9 of these kids could have made it!! Seger did not wrestle as well as I have seen. Guaranteed LOUDEST guy in the gym!!!! |
Rookie Registered: November 18, 2003 Posts: 86 | After watching T-H they just came in over rated, they had too many freshman to depend on and the veteran wrestlers never came through either. Johnson @ 152# Sluyter @ 160# did'nt qualify, McCormick @ 189# gets 4th, and the rest of the wrestlers just did'nt look that good. |
Rookie Registered: December 15, 2005 Posts: 111 | I think the b-3 152 bracket could have been the toughest bracket in any district this year. |
Rookie Registered: December 06, 2005 Posts: 94 | Aaron Carlson of Sutton pinned Zitek of East Butler, who saw that coming? |
Novice Registered: October 29, 2002 Posts: 339 | McCormick was sick yesterday also so hopefully he gets back to 100 percent and gets to wrestling like he can |
Rookie Location: Howells Registered: December 24, 2002 Posts: 62 | It sould be hard to have a better bracket 215 - d-2, 5 returning State placers and a 6th seed that was 34-4 coming in. Two of the State placers did not make it. Might have been the top 6 in D in one district, at least 6 of the top 8-9. |
Rookie Registered: January 21, 2004 Posts: 70 | who saw Aquinas bringing 11 to state!...103,112,119,125,130,140,145,160,171,275. All the wrestler that made it the second day qualified! Hats off towards them for making a comeback against East Butler and winning by about 30pts in getting first as a team |

World Champion Registered: August 27, 2002 Posts: 6425 | B-4 140 was incredibly difficult. Luke Arnold was beat out in the consolation quarters. There were about 8-9 state tournament kids. Don't be surprised if all 4 qualifiers from out west are in the state semi-finals. |

If you hadn't seen T-H during the year you would think that. They held up well against Plattsmouth, Aurora, Boys Town, Elkhorn, Crete, York, Beatrice, Bennington, Acquinas and even won 7 of 11 matches against Norfolk Catholic in a dual. They also took their lumps against Skutt and Millard South. The Norfolk Catholic coach was doing the ratings so if T-H was overrated, he was partly responsible for it. I'm not blaming him...I'd do the same thing too because it does put pressure on a team. T-H just self-destructed for some unexplained reason and lost a bunch of re-matches with guys they had beat during the year. McCormick was really sick and I'm not sure about the rest of the team. At least he won't have any problems making weight at state. ;-) |
Rookie Registered: December 04, 2005 Posts: 51 | C-3 145 was suprising with Kasperbaur of St.Paul and Pokorny of David City both staying home |
Rookie Registered: January 21, 2004 Posts: 70 | that's what TH said last year and the year after C Man. Point of the matter is that TH folds under big matches. |
Novice Registered: November 27, 2005 Posts: 221 | i thought carlson had a good shot at beating him....from what i heard the first time they met carlson lost 17-2? and zitek got almost all points from cheap tilts? Carlson's a good wrestler and i wouldnt be surprised if he makes it to the finals this year. |
Novice Registered: October 29, 2002 Posts: 339 | i dont think winning 6 state titles and multiple runner ups is folding under big matches yea this year they did but you cant say that thats all TH does they are one of the more historical programs that there is.. |
Varsity Letterman Location: Nebraska Registered: October 21, 2002 Posts: 980 | Tekamah-Herman overrated? Please... I would like to see every Class C team have a schedule like this, then throw in the toughest district in Class C, then see how much talking you could do. And some people need to keep quiet, because they may run into some TH wrestlers down at Qwest and some of the statements made could easily become "bulletin board" material. Rookie Registered: November 18, 2003 Posts: 86 | Okay stop it, I don't care what your schedule was, who you wrestled all year or how many titles you have.... this is all about what you do now. If you want to start talking about next year already thats fine, but the fact of the matter is you did not wrestle well yesterday, period..... |
