State Qualifier Registered: October 16, 2005 Posts: 1077 | Congrats to Gilman. He placed 2nd last year in the same tourney. Tough match with Schmitt in the finals. Please pick the Huskers over the Hawks! |
State Qualifier Registered: April 05, 2005 Posts: 1120 | Congrats Thomas, job well done. If I'm not mistaken I think this qualifies Thomas for the Cadet World team to compete in Hungary. NICE!!! |
Novice Registered: March 25, 2008 Posts: 296 | Way to go Thomas! He also qualifies for free Cadet Worlds camp at the OTC 8/14-21st, then off to Hungary 8/23-28th. I heard from a reliable source that USA Wrestling is subsidizing the trip generously too. Wish they could have scheduled Worlds a little earlier since some will have already started school in mid August. |

Junior High Registered: September 30, 2004 Posts: 534 | Quick question here- Where does Gilman rank as far as 125 recruits go for next year? Doesn't he have to be the top recruit in the country at that weight? What a wonderful accomplishment to win cadet nationals. Chad Mattox |
State Champion Registered: December 11, 2002 Posts: 1493 | right now he is ranked #2 @ 119 so I would assume he would be a top 5 125 recruit |

State Qualifier Registered: October 16, 2005 Posts: 1077 | Meeks from Iowa commited to Nebraska and is another very solid wrestler. Would love to see Gilman and Meeks at NU with one at 125 and the other at 133. From Des Moines Register on 3/25/11.... Keith Meeks, father of Roosevelt wrestler John Meeks (Ranked No. 6 @ 130), confirmed today that his son has committed to Nebraska. John Meeks’ brother, Blake, is a freshman wrestler at Nebraska, but Keith said that wasn’t the sole reason John wanted to be a Cornhusker. “John has wanted to wrestle with Nebraska since he was in sixth grade,” Keith Meeks said. “He’s been to all the camps in Nebraska since sixth, seventh grade. It was a comfortable fit.” Keith Meeks said Nebraska has offered a full scholarship to John, who through three high school seasons is 123-0 with three state titles. Only five wrestlers have finished their Iowa high school career undefeated. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Alexander_Delarge_655321, |
