I'll start this thread with a congratulations to Matt Bruggeman of Gretna who was selected as the District B-2 coach of the year. Good guy, good coach, well deserved.

Who were some of the other district coaches of the year?

C-2 District coach of the year- Kenny Loosvelt of Madison. Kenny does it year in and year out. Graduated a talented class of seniors last year and fills all the weights this year with good, solid kids. Very, very impressive and much deserved!

A-2 Coach Jernigan of the Omaha Westside Warriors. Jernigan took over as head coach during the 2007-08 season. He qualified 1 that year and scored 0 points at state, coming in 32nd out of 32. The next year he qualified a few more. Last year Westside qualified 7. And this year Jernigan and his staff managed to qualify 10 to state with 4 district champs. His positive attitude enables him to inspire his team beyond their capabilities. The Warriors gave it all they had at districts. Congrats to Coach Jernigan and his staff. He couldn't have done it without the support of his hand picked coaches. And special kudos to coach Bombac for preparing the JV's and coach Weber for being second in command of the program.

Tyler needs to build a den so he can put all of his plaques up. Very well deserving for his award.

Thanks EMan and 3/4 Nelson.

D-4 may have been won by Barry Mraz. Medicine Valley has won that district the past four years I believe. Great coach, better guy.

That's not for sure though, just a guess. Does anyone know for sure?
