Northern Plains Regionals Freestyle and Greco are coming up this weekend. We are leaving on Thursday. I will put out a list of Nebraska USA competitors tonight for all to see. I believe we have about 25 this year. This meet is in Illinois so that's a great number for such a long distance.

Hey ARod you still got my hotel room?

Yep still got it if you want it. Just got back from Massey's, dropped Dante' off for the pre-regional camp. We will pick him up Wednesday evening after camp and start heading to Illinois.

Pretty good looking group. Wish we had more. This is still double what we had last year.

Exploradories are doing a great job getting kids to wrestle freestyle and greco.

Jamison Baird- Wolves Extreme/ Logan View
Austin Gustafson- Wolves Extreme/ Logan View
Garret Bowder- Wolves Extreme/ Pender
Alex Metzler- Wolves Extreme/ Tekamah

Wolves Extreme is a USA regional training site in Oakland. The rest of the kids are from the Exploradories in Omaha. I really believe this number will grow even more next year. I believe Hodges is starting a club down in Nebraska City next season. That will give us a good spot down in the SE part of the state. So at least the Eastern part of the state will be covered. Also Kearney is a great spot with Rodriguez and Miller running clubs. Scottsbluff had a few kids this year and hope that grows for next year.

Good luck to all and I'll see you at registration with your Nebraska gear.

Wolves Extreme wrestling academy results:

Freestyle
Garret Bowder got 6th...lost a close match to Perkins for 5th.

Alex Metzler got 4th...wrestled 7 matches in 4 hours.

Nice job guys

Several Exploradorie wrestlers placed as well. We will get the link up to the full results soon. It should be able to be found on trackwrestling.com

I know Yoder and Pokorny placed too. Can't remember what the placing was....I think Yoder got 4th in Freestyle and Pokorny placed in greco.

Very tough tournament.

www.trackwrestling.com for results.

Look up Northern Plains regionals freestyle and
Northern plains regionals greco.

Nebraska ended up with 23 wrestlers this year. Hope to double that next year. It will be in Minnesota.

It was good to see our Kids/Cadets Director supporting our kids even though he didn't have one of his own wrestling. Thanks, Fred

Did you happen to get any good pics of our boys? If so please forward.

Our Kids Director, Fred Franklin, was selected as the 2009 Kids/Cadet Person of the Year from the Northern Plains. Fred will be eligible for the national award later this summer.

Congratulations Fred!
