It is hard to beleive that only 7 kids from NE are competing in this.

We actually have 4 cadets wrestling freestyle and greco. Then we have 7 juniors wrestling greco. Then we have an additional 3 guys coming for junior freestyle.

Numbers are up by 4 from last year.

Not surprising though with all the folkstyle opportunities out there during the month of May, June and July. Leagues and team camps have hurt the participation in freestyle and greco. That isn't going to change in the future cause there's too much money at stake and money talks.

What kids need to realize is that its fun to do a little cross-training for folkstyle. They will learn some very important techniques that will help them to be a better folkstyle wrestler.

Plus the competition is great at Fargo. Skylar Galloway lost to the Virginia AAA state champion Josh Clark last round in what looks to have been a close match. Hard to get that kind of out-of-state competition at a camp.

Perkins is 7-0 and kicking butt. Taylor Massa (other pool) just got pinned after winning the first period 7-1. That was huge upset. The wrestler who beat him is from WY and already had a loss.

Perkins has 2 matches left to determine his place in the pool. The wrestler from CA (Roadebaugh) is undefeated and the other Moorhouse, IL, has a loss.
