I was just taking a look at the NSWCA ratings and something struck me. What would the matchups look like if it was Omaha v. the rest of the state.

103-Dan Pedersen, Gross V. #1 Micah Chrisinger, Cozad
Chrisinger in a rout.

112-#1 Devlon Webb, Boys Town v. #2 Edward Gallegos, Scottsbluff
Likely State Championship match up.

119-#2 Kellan Mckim, Skutt v. Jason Katusin, Platteview
A B-2 finals preview.

125-#1 Yasim Bribieseca, Boys Town v. #3 Martin Maldanado, Scottsbluff
Bribieseca is as tough as they come, but it would be a fantastic match up.

130-#2 Kyle Svendsen, Skutt v. #1 Andrew Weins, Beatrice
Weins looks unbeatable this year.

135-#1 Cash Coolidge, Skutt v. #2 Andrew Chrisinger, Cozad
Another 1,2 match up. Coolidge in a squeker.

140-No real Omaha contender.

145-#2 Drew Prusha, Gross v. #1 Jordan Mundil, Schuyler
This is just about the only time I disagree with the ratings. I belive Prusha would come out on top.

152-No real Omaha contender.

160-#3 Matt Ferrell, Skutt v. #1 Brandon Browne, Plattesmouth
Theres no way I would bet against either of these guys.

171-No real Omaha contender.

189-Tony Thorman, Skutt V #1 Eric Dolezal, Platteview
A Dolezal rout.

215-#2 Brett Luttmer, Skutt v. #1 Richard Smock, Holdrege
A pick'em match up, with the edge to Luttmer

275-Anthony Vittriano, Boys Town v. Paul Itaaheau, Valentine
Itaaheau in a nasty rout.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all to the State Class B tournament. It will be held at Plattview H.S. on February 13th, 14th.

Why do you have a "no real omaha contender" for 152? What about Chris Oliver is he not good enough for you? haha

The post is for Class B wrestlers only. I think this would be a pretty good dual (well not as lopsided as some might think).

103- 1-0 Nebraska
Heath Stangl, Elkhorn v. Dan Patterson, Gross

112- 1-1
Devlon Webb, BT v. Edward Gallegos, Scottsbluff

119- 2-1 Nebraska
Jason Katusin, Platt v. Kellen McKim, Skutt

125- 2-2
Bribieseca, BT v. Alex Maldanado, Scottsbluff

130- 3-2 Nebraska
Andrew Wiens, Beatrice v. Kyle Svendsen, Skutt

135- 3-3
Jeremy McCoy, BT v. Andrew Chrissinger, Cozad

140- 4-3 Nebraska
Matt Nelson, Wayne v. Scott Nordstrom, Skutt

145- 4-4
Drew Prusha, Gross v. Jordan Mundil, Schuyler

152- 5-4 Nebraska
Dan Hospodka, Gretna v. Clint Steele, Skutt

160- 6-4 Nebraska
Brandon Browne, Plattsmouth v Matt Farrell, Skutt

171- 7-4 Nebraska
Levi Wofford, Aurora v. Matt Briggs, Skutt

189- 8-4 Nebraska
Eric Dolezal, Platteview v. Tony Thorman, Skutt

215- 8-5 Nebraska
Richard Smock, McCook v. Brett Lutmer, Omaha Skutt

275- 9-5 Nebraska
Paul Itaaehau, Val. v. Anthony Vettraino, BT

Better question is Omaha v. State (all class)

103-
Josh Pyzdek, Louisville v. Stephen Wanning, MN

112-
Devlon Webb, Boys Town v. Brandon Gaines, T-H

119-
Jason Katusin, Platteview v. Matt Vacanti, PLV

Don't forget that Sergio is now wrestling at 125. He beat Alex in Sidney.

He is a natural 125 lb.cutting about 4 or 5 pounds .

Alex is cutting way too much weight it has and will continue to cause him problems .

I think Palomo can win it all this year. Did he wrestle 125 last year too? If so, who beat him at state? He is looking awesome this year. I haven't seen the BT kid, but I doubt he can hang with Sergio!

Palomo didn't place last year, losing to Rotella and Girard. Maldanado beat Yasiim in the semi's last year by a score of 9-4, however, I can tell you with all confidence that Bribieseca has improved enormously from last season. Already this season he has beaten Robert Daro, David City Aquinas by a score of 7-0, Tom Pulte, Omaha Gross by a score of 8-3, Johnny Marsh, Centennial, and Miles Negley, Lincoln Christian by a score of 20-8.

<<103-Dan Pedersen, Gross V. #1 Micah Chrisinger, Cozad
Chrisinger in a rout.>>

They wrestled last night at the triangular in Aurora (Gross, Cozad, Aurora). Chrisinger won 9-5; was 3-3 going into the 3rd period.

I didn't think that Pederson / Chrisinger was as close as the score made it out to be. Micah is incredible on the mat

I see. Were you there? I was. The match was actually closer than the score. It was 7-5 with about 15 seconds left. Both wrestlers were up. Micah got the takedown to close out the scoring 9-5. Pedersen gets the TD and it goes to OT.

yes, i was there. I just didn't think that chrisinger ever thought he would loose it. it was like he knew in his mind and was convinced that he was going to win, and that was all there was to it. it was not up for discussion or debate. just my impression.

I guess that explains why Micah was losing 4-3 in the third period; and why Micah turned around to look at the score in the middle of the 3rd period. I guess he had no concern at all that he might lose; since you say so.

My last comment on this; is that I have nothing against Micah. He is #1 and deserves his ranking. I don't think he wrestled a bad match; he came out smoking ... was trying to get a quick pin. The quick pin didn't happen.

But to pretend that this was not a good match; and Pedersen had no chance to win ... makes no sense to me.

Congratulations to Micah; on a hard-fought victory over a good opponent. Dan is just back from wrestling at the Clash where he went 4-1. He must not be all that bad. Not sure why it is so hard to give him credit for giving Micah a good match. Anyone else come closer to Micah this year?

I haven't seen how much Micah has improved from last year but Stangl definetly looks better than Micah did last year.

They are both lucky !

It must be pretty cool to get to go to the Clash and wrestle some of the best with your team .

Micah is lucky to have a good competitor to push him and judge his progress . I got the chance to watch him at Sidney he is much improved over last year . One year of maturity can make a huge difference sometimes . It would be interesting to take this years Micah back in time to last years finals . The match may have came out the same , but I think it would have been much closer .
