Novice Registered: March 22, 2005 Posts: 242 | Tyler Hodges over at Nebraska City is pretty good at figuring out what the classifications will be. I am guessing he already has it done. |

Junior High Registered: September 24, 2007 Posts: 527 | Here is a wild guess at Class B districts. This could be way off. I was wrong by 1 school last year. School District 1 Elkhorn South B-1 2 Gross B-1 3 Platteview B-1 4 Gretna B-1 5 Ashland Greenwood B-1 6 Wahoo B-1 7 Waverly B-1 8 Norris B-1 9 Plattsmouth B-1 10 Nebraska City B-1 11 Auburn B-1 12 Falls City B-1 1 O'Neill B-2 2 Hartington CC B-2 3 Wayne B-2 4 Blair B-2 5 Skutt B-2 6 Bennington B-2 7 Schuyler B-2 8 Elkhorn B-2 9 Boystown B-2 10 Mount Michael B-2 11 Columbus Lakeview B-2 12 Roncalli B-2 1 GI Northwest B-3 2 Adams Central B-3 3 Milford B-3 4 Aurora B-3 5 Central City B-3 6 Fairbury B-3 7 Beatrice B-3 8 Seward B-3 9 Lincoln Christian B-3 10 Minden B-3 11 York B-3 12 Crete B-3 1 Scottsbluff B-4 2 Gering B-4 3 Sidney B-4 4 Alliance B-4 5 Chadron B-4 6 Ogallala B-4 7 McCook B-4 8 Cozad B-4 9 Broken Bow B-4 10 Holdrege B-4 11 Lexington B-4 12 Gothenburg B-4 This is a very rough guess. The lines could flop a lot. Tear it up.This message has been edited. Last edited by: NC, Relentless |

Nahhh....no need stirrin' up that hornet's nest...LOL. Can't remember, but I thought I heard Wayne would shift to B-3 with the two Elkhorns coming in. State Qualifier Registered: March 21, 2005 Posts: 1035 | Mike, I was never very good at gazintas (2 gazinta 10 5 times, 3 gazinta 27 9 times, etc) but I thought that I was fair at sums. So I got a bunch of neighbors together and they all took their shoes off so I could count toes and test your theory about Skutt being in Class B if there were 40 teams in Class A. I marked off 32 toes as Class A and then started marking off 8 more toes as Class B teams. When I got to number 8 I saw it was Skutt. I even checked every foot to see that there were no lawn mower accidents messing up the results or that the man from Princess Bride who had 6 fingers on his right hand hadn't moved into our neighborhood without me knowing it. Everybody had the standard issue of 5 toes per foot. According to rumors NC has a Ph. D. in statistics so I am assuming his lists are correct. Where did I go wrong? “You should always be willing to give more than you receive, but you can’t.” PS: In case anybody cares, if there were 91 schools in Class A then Douglas County West would be the smallest Class A school. |
Junior High Registered: September 24, 2007 Posts: 527 | O'Neill would be the first team to flop out, but with them being so far north they move to a location/distance opposed to latitude and longitude. A lot of these schools are close to the line. Relentless |
Rookie Registered: May 05, 2008 Posts: 99 | If your calculations are correct on the lineup of Class A schools, the A-4 District would have the top 3 teams from last year and 4 from the top 7 - all in one district! Grand Island, Kearney, Millard South, and Norfolk! |

It is my understanding that there is no geographic considerations in assigning Class A districts, that they are serpentined by enrollment. So it would be a good idea to ease some of these logjams in the following way. After the state tournament each spring all underclassmen who qualified for the state tournament would be assigned points as follows: SQ (0-2) 1 pt. SQ (1-2) 2 pts plus bonus points from the win. SQ (2-2) 3 pts plus bonus points from wins. All place winners would be awarded points as scored in the tournament. The scores for each team will be totaled and then the districts would be assigned by serpentining those point totals. The point totals for non-placing qualifers might need tweaking but the concept should spread the talent among the districts. |

Rookie Registered: January 22, 2010 Posts: 29 | If this all holds up, which district would you rather avoid? A4 or B2? |
Rookie Registered: January 14, 2009 Posts: 68 | I will get it started. It is much harder to qualify coming from B-2. Last yrs finishes Skutt 1st BoysTown 2nd Schuyler 3rd Bennington 5th Blair 13th Lets not forget 12 teams instead of 8 in a district. Year in and year out B-2 is a BEAST! Any given year you might see tough districts but it would be interesting to look at the last 20 years, I think B-2 would blow them all away. Who has the time to do this?? |
Novice Registered: March 12, 2007 Posts: 339 | I agree with you ALF to some extent. But also look at C-2 and D-2. I know they are lower classes but year in and year out it seems these districts produce a large proportion of the the individual champions, medalists, and also the team champions. |

Junior High Registered: September 24, 2007 Posts: 527 | Hey I still haven't started school yet. Can't mess up my daily tee times for this. Looks like we will be starting next Tuesday, so I will breakdown the rest of the teams. Let me know of any new coops. I heard about WPCC and Scribner-Snyder. Relentless |
