Myron Ellegood resigned (took a job in Kansas). Mike Smith (although possibly not this year) is considering retirement.

Brandon has put off getting his licence because his schedule at the hospital would change making it impossible to Coach . He had hoped for an opening within the school system for a Nurse or teaching position where he could use his education but nothing has opened up .With his wife expecting (yes there may be another wrestler on the way )he may have to take his boards and not come back next year .

Life certainly moves on, doesn't it? Wish Myron well, from my perspective a very class individual and coach. Hope Brandon can stay on, he has just about perfected the 'Deter' grimace! Smile

How many in Gering are upset with Ellegood leaving?

Time to talk Deter out of retirement!!!

Will any kids transfer out?

Just a few thoughts........

Gering's team is mostly going to be comprised of seniors (currently juniors). Three of those seniors are returning state medalists. I would think those seniors are going to want to finish their careers together. The only other returning medalist is my son and he isn't going anywhere. I guess it depends on who they hire also.

I heard a rumor Jason might be leaving T-town for a college coaching job. Any truth to that rumor?

gering needs a change. I am not sorry to see Mr Ellegood go. I wish him well in his new job in Kansas. I just hope the new AD puts as much time into picking a new wrestling coach as he puts into the football program!

BD, That seems to be a problem in more ways, I meant places, not ways, than one. The situation were currently in is looking up in a good way though. The new AD here seems to be willing to work with the program. Just have to know how to compromise and work the angles. Building and maintaining a wrestling program has never been as easy as a football program, for the most part.We all know that. You usually dont get near the support from the school system or the community for that matter, but if you keep working at it, things seem to eventually move in the right direction!!!

I heard Northwest high school had got rid of their coach or he quit so there's a job open there if your looking to help an unknown team get on the map?
