what a fun tourney to watch some great wrestling, Howells is so tough from 171 thru heavy, Creighton just battles at all the classes and Plainview has a very good team. Some matches I observed were @171 Nielsen pinning Gumb in the 1st period, Brester looks unstoppable. @160 Frahm is very solid and had a tough match with Hasenpflug who took out Schroeder in the semis. @152 Waldow and Scranton was a dandy in ot these two will see each other alot by districts. @140 McManigal beat a tough Uhl kid in the semis and had a very good match with a Seger who is solid. Lamkin was untested @130, Ainsworth has a couple of good wrestlers in Quinn and Hoyt who beat a very good wrestler in Pudenz at 119. Atkinson West Holt ran a good tourney with lots of good wrestling.

why did Phillips wrestle 135 instead of his usual 130 ? Lamkin and him would have been a good match, I heard Phillips is undefeated?

Phillipps wrestled at 130 the night before and couldn't make weight.

Gumb was ahead of Neilson 7-1 and had him on his back and Neilson rolled through and pinned Gumb. Both are good wrestlers. 171 wt. class and 152 was loaded full of good wrestlers.

that's twice just recently Phillips had the opportunity to wrestle Lamkin.

Clearly Phillips had a chance to wrestle Lamkin 2 weeks in a row and "couldn't make weight". Yet, he makes 130 any other week he wants to. Now that he won't have to see West Holt again he will make 130 from here on out.

Another seen at the tourney is that Uhl from Ponca isn't any special. After he lost he became a dirty wrestler and is a very bad sport. He was lucky not to get DQ'd after the fist he put in the nose of the Plainview kid on a cheap crossface. He did it 2 times but only got caught once.

What happend to Meyer of Plainview, did he lose to the Howells kid or the West Holt kid?

I think philips is protecting that 0 at the end of his record

Meyer was beat by the West Holt kid Gavin Murray in the semis, this kid is huge! alot of upper body strength.

I would have to agree with guest, Phillips is worried about his record, should have met the challenge and wrestled Lamkin.

meyer had a take down at the edge of the mat in either the late 2nd of early third that the ref didn't award that wouldl've swayed the match alot, cuz once meyer gets on top well......... good luck. htat is just from what i've seen from watchin a few times this year. i wouldn't worry tho i think meyer will come back strong to finish the year.

meyer had his chance on top and it didn't help him. the West Holt kid took bottom when he had choice and got right out

Really......I didn't think Murry was that good. That just from seeing wrestle at O'neil. Hekrdle didn't have much prob. with him at all.

Murray is a good wrestler and I didn't handle him. He got off balance and I caught it.

You can say what you want about Uhl but this kid is a tough wrestler with a 19-2 record, I think he is very aggressive and he will place at state.

i think uhl is just an emotional wrestler. there was nothing cheap about that crossface. he is just very aggressive
