Now that Matt has finished his HS wrestling career; I want to offer my congratulations on an outstanding job! Matt, you are one of best Nebraska HS wrestlers ... ever.

Best of luck in your college career. Hope to see you become one of the best college wrestlers ever from Nebraska!

Props to Matt for finding his way when he needed to.

I still find him to be a polite respectable young man, and I wish him nothing but the best at NU.

I am looking forward to seeing how Vacanti and Team Ne do at Fargo. I am hoping Matt goes to Sr. Nationals in PA with some of the other NE Sr studs and they can come home with A.A. honors. However, NE does not send many kids to Sr. Nationals which is too bad.

I learned last year that there is no coordinated effort on this matter here in Nebraska. I believe there are numerous seniors interested to attend Senior Nationals and would likely do so with encouragement and assistance. Last year Coach Hildebrandt and Coach Wofford volunteered their coaching skills, Brad voluntarily arranged some rooms and led some coordination of a small group of wrestlers from Nebraska. It would be a positive if this forum could lead to communication on this subject and reveal those interested for further information and also if Nebraska has any coaches attending. The event has been moved from Cleveland to Pittsburg this year.

I agree it would be great to get information out to where these seniors could work out. NE wrestlers are as good as anyone in the nation just need to do the preperation if they are going to compete at that level.

amazing that any1 could win 4 stright state titles. but in the 76 (or something like that) years of the state tourney he is the only the 13th one to ever do that. truly amazing.

I wrestled Matt at the Fremont Tourny in the 04-05 season and lost to him in the finals. I know you always have to think positive going into a match but I knew where this match was going to end up for me. Well we had our districts at Papillion that same year and as we were leaving to go home he congratulated me and wished me good luck. For one the fact that he still remembered me was cool and that he was kinda watching me I thought just showed how cool of a guy he really is. So good luck in the future Matt.
