Sutton heavyweight Mike Shoff is a freshman and undefeated. Ross said he didn't remember the last time their was a freshman heavyweight champ and undefeated. Ron Gerber told me that Norm Freeman of Friend won HWT as a freshman but was not undefeated. Who was the last to do so??

Jack Wardyn is just licking his chops right now. Mike Shoff is great but watch out, I don't believe Jack will bow down easy.

Let's just say I bet he's thankful that the weight class was bumped up to 285 a few years back.

Last I talked to him was 6'6", 270 lb area.

I think he's been fairly steady there for about a year

If someone that big was in my neighborhood, we would refer to him as "Sir."

Mike Schoff is a great kid, I have seen him grow as a wrestler since he was at least in 3rd grade. My son considers him a great friend and was fortunate enough to wrestle with him at the middle school national duals last year. I wish him the best of luck at state and win or lose he can hold his head up high.

Mike and Jack wrestled 2 close matches this summer at York--no pin. I know Mike is just focused on taking one match at a time and hopes to get the chance to wrestle in the finals. Both Jack and Mike have had fantastic years so let's just let them enjoy the moment.
