somebody explain to me why they don't seed State. How many times do we have to watch the finals on Friday night during the semifinals instead of Saturday finals for someone mans up and change it?

It's more exciting when you get two undefeated wrestlers to the finals, though...

I think Mertes from Auburn deserves some credit going undefeated.

I don't know of many states that seed the state tournament (I know New Jersey does, but it's a one-class state for the individual tournament.) Think of all the arguments at the seeding meeting and a greater likelihood of someone getting an unfair bracket position. I think auto-seed is the fairest, but as you point out, sometimes the best matches happen in the semi's.

There's a reason why they don't seed state, but I'm not sure what it is.

Considering all the technology that is available...whatever reason it is, it isn't a good one.

Colorado only seeds the regional champions at state. They are seeded 1-4 based on previous state placing and then winning percentage. Not a perfect system, but probably better than no seeding at all.

I was asking a question. Being undefeated is a great feat and the fact that there are 3 in the same weight is impressive. Only one will end up that way next week.
