Bohunk Bob, the official celebratory ground squirrel of Endicott, poked his head out of the ground today and saw his shadow, which means we'll have four great months of high school and college wrestling here in Nebraska.

The Endicott ground squirrels are still very upset that they have to go all the way to Fairbury to see a high school wrestling match. Back in the late 80s they tried to get an exhibition match between the locals that worked at the brickyard and the river rats of Steel City. Unfortunately, Dean Sprague heard of the uprising and ripped the rear legs off of Bohunk Bob's Dad, BeerBarrel Bill, and his local wrestling dream died (along with Bill, after several unsuccessful wheel chair stunts). I've spoken with Dean about his fit of rage that night, and although he'll never admit it, I feel he regrets his drunken actions that could have led to something beautiful along the Little Blue River. Oh, what could have been!

I had a pretty good first practice and I'm typing a little silly............ I apologize for the off topic silliness!

NWI.......... You're not from Ogallala anymore!

Reynolds is another berg in Jefferson County that holds memories........ Quite the burger joint back in the day! We hunted coyotes back in the day, and planned it so we could stop in reynolds every saturday at noon......usually with bloody coveralls!

Powell is another bustling metropolis not often talked about, but with its place in history regarding the oregon trail, pony express, and the meeting place of the little blue and little sandy..........everyone should go! I've found dozens of arrowheads and even a stock of a 1869 muzzleloader just a mile or two from the five houses that make up Powell....... How's that for backwoods talk?

I got thrown out of a bar in Reynolds once.

No...twice.

Had a lot of good times in Fairbury as a younger guy. Learned a lot about corrupt politicians as a student at the old SCC-Fairbury campus...got most of them voted out of office in their next election cycles.

Ah, good times...
