We've got to stay the course, and we will stay the course ..." -- George W. Bush, April 5, 2004 "The United States of America will stay the course ..." -- George W. Bush, Nov. 21, 2004 "We will stay the course; we will complete the job in Iraq." -- George W. Bush, Aug 4, 2005 "We will stay the course, we will help this young Iraqi democracy succeed." -- George W. Bush, Aug. 31, 2006 "Listen, we've never been 'stay the course' ..." -- George W. Bush, Oct. 22, 2006 As Leonard Pitts put it, extremely Orwellian in nature. Thankfully the "Bushistan" era is almost over. |

Junior Varsity Registered: March 24, 2005 Posts: 652 | You're right. We should fully support the detailed plan of action he has set forth to complete the imperializa....I mean the liberation of Iraq. His campaign was like your posts. He kept ranting about what Bush was doing wrong. But when asked what he would do differently he gave his standard answer, "I have a plan." He has been in the Senate for 2 years since then. How many bills has he put into the hopper that would put all of his great plans into action? For that matter, how many senate votes has he cast in the past 2 years. Dislike Bush all you like, that's one of the great advantages in living in our country. But give him credit for having the stones to do what he thought was right without waffling according to the latest poll or focus group finding. |

Junior Varsity Registered: March 24, 2005 Posts: 652 | Geez, just because I'm not a lemming or Hammelin child, I support the Clintons? That's pretty conservative thought. |
Junior Varsity Location: lincoln ne. usa Registered: January 28, 2003 Posts: 634 | Lets think about this for just a moment guys! Political Correctness: A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical liberal minority, rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, holding forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end. hawk |

Too many big words this early in the morning. Could you re-state that in terms us simple folk understand? |
Junior Varsity Registered: March 24, 2005 Posts: 652 | Hawk, that is awesome! By the way, in my book, the moratorium will always occur over Christmas break, not winter break. For some reason, that drives me crazy...... |
World Champion Location: Wayne, America Registered: October 20, 2002 Posts: 5714 | What drives me nuts is those who think the "One nation, under God" line in the Pledge of Allegiance needs to be taken out. I think those who believe that should be the ones that are "taken out" if you know what I mean and I think you do. If we could somehow get all of those who favor political correctness together in one place and drop a 10-kiloton nuclear bomb right in the center of them...there might be hope for this world. Junior Varsity Registered: March 24, 2005 Posts: 652 | Let me just ask this: Are there any conservatives out there that have ever questioned/doubted anything the Pres. has done or said in the last six years? If so, what? If not, God help us all....... |
Novice Registered: September 13, 2004 Posts: 259 | For sure Slvr, 2 off the top of my head! 1) The illegal imigrant issue. Get tougher sooner! 2) More push to limit or stop Abortions. My observations(limited as they are) liberal minded people are the real followers of the big media etc...where conservative minded people have actually thought most issues through! Like your 2nd comment; "imperializa..."?!?! I heard somone in the big media say this a while back when all I've ever heard the president say is, "We leave when the job is done" Is your next post gonna have the term "Gravitas" in it? |

World Champion Location: Wayne, America Registered: October 20, 2002 Posts: 5714 | SilverHwk...I did question why Bush didn't just flatten the entire Middle East and write a letter to Kim Jong Il and that nutjob in Iran saying, "You want some of that, too???" And after that, he could have just lined up troops along the Mexican border and shot anything -- or anyone -- that stepped one foot inside the imaginary line. If nothing else, it would get the illegals to take an alternate route...like maybe swimming up the Pacific coast to Seattle (although this policy may indirectly affect the price of lettuce, which would drive up the cost of our chalupas at Taco Bell). Lastly...I'm concerned that he's doing NOTHING about the NCAA's tax-exempt status, hasn't eliminated ALL income taxes, has yet to find a way to keep George Steinbrenner from overspending the Yankees into playoff oblivion, and can't seem to get somebody to polish off the last of the Kennedy brothers. Other than that...he's doing about as good a job as we can expect from a Texan... "Energy Flows Where Attention Goes" -- James Arthur Ray |
